DFHQ/Novahq a year that was

Has been a big year for the ever-evolving DFHQ/Novahq, we take a look back at the major events and some useless facts of 2004

January February and March
In January we released the Hardware Reviews, we now have 17 reviews and will be continuing to add more.

DFHQ also released the hugely popular Squad Roster feature, this allowed squads to have an easily administered squad roster.

The amount of users online at one time rose to 169!

Panther also finished the new tourney section, you haven’t really seen the full force of this yet, but this allows tourneys to be completely run from a control panel, everything’s easily adjustable. EDGE and Tecoma will be using this for more Novahq tourneys soon.

DFHQ got a server upgrade and overhaul, this made the site quicker and allowed us to expand even more!

February saw DFHQ reach 5000 members!


April, May and June
The long awaited new game of Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising was released by NovaLogic

Arguabely the biggest event in the sites history, June saw the end of DFHQ, DFHQ was replaced by Novahq, this allowed us to expand to the Joint Ops series of games as well as the Delta Force Series. The site also got a major overhaul and many new features were added, the ability for users to choose from a variety of site skins, the user interaction in the map database and an overhaul of the utilities script was the major updates noticed, for a full list of what happened click HERE

DFHQ/Novahq reached 6000 members!


July, August and September
The Resident PHP Guru and site owner Panther releases his new site phphq.net where he is slowly releasing scripts similar to the ones we use here!

After some discussion, Aug 4th was accepted as Novahq's birthday, the site turned three years old, although celebrations were delayed as everyone forgot.


October, November and December
The 7000th site member registered in October

Novahq started the High Rollers Group, this is a group of the most senior members of Novahq, who in recognition or their support of Novahq, get a special status, they help us out around the place as needed and will be involved in some special projects we have planned for 2005 and beyond.

Novahq got two new staff members, E.D.G.E and ux*Tecoma won the tourney administrator positions that were widely advertised, they are currently planning the next season of tourneys.

Panther released PhMapDB, a standalone script based on the map database we use here at Novahq, it’s become so popular that it is used on many gaming sites, including some of the more popular DF/JO ones! For more info on PhMapDB visit www.phphq.net

Novahq in 2005
So what can you expect from Novahq in 2005?

Well of course we will continue to keep you updated with the latest news, maps, files, and links available on the full range of DF and JO games. We also currently have a number of unique major projects under development, one of which in particular you will hear about soon, i suspect next year well have to divide it up into months not quarters .
In 2005 Novahq will also re-introduce tourneys, compliments of Edge and ux*Tecoma.

oh you will, one project in particular that we are divising which will get underway earlyish 2k5 needs to be run over 3 months just to be able to handle it logistically. Thereyll be novahq tournements in 2k5 plus im sure the HQHR group will do some things of their own...
