You missed an option off the poll "Another disappointment".

Hmm... I used to visit NovaWorld forums every day for a long time. I never saw that news post. Plus, it looks like just thier publisher is going to start using the new engine. That doesn't mean that Nova will use the engine (I really hope they will).

Using UnrealEd (Like i said above) would open a whole new door of possibilities for Nova. I was suprised that JO was developed with the older game engine. There are so many bugs! (Just to name one: When your vehicle flips over, and back on it's wheels and the game thinks its still flipped)

But, seeing as how "hard headed" Novalogic is, i wouldn't get your hopes up.

I don't really think Nova's games are dissapointments (i REALLY liked JO) i just think they like to shoot themselves in the foot, and not listen to anyone.

hmmm. think i'd like a bit of df1 style open jungle warfare. df has always been about fighting around buildings, wether it be in the jungle, desert or urban towns, theres always buildings. i'd like a few trees to hind behind instead :P

proper warfar style, men beside u and all that. i'd love a modern day call of duty

Well i thought JO met that open jungle criteria. Joint ops is a forest environment on a large scale. LOTS of trees, and a lot of distance between things.

I would personally like to see another game that includes ALL terrains (Forest, snow etc.) based more upon close & covert CQB warfare. Like a tin of gas said above, some kind of more squad-based play. I can't stand run and gun. Looking at JO, i think Nova could really do some nice stuff with an all-around terrain type of game.

And after playing some games like FEAR and CoD 2, i've noticed that nova really needs to add some DX9 effects (Such as bump mapping, and explosion blurs). They are kind of behind in that area. (oh, new game engine, where are you? )

Well i think if Nova decides to make any more Delta Forces it should be like Realistic like as you see it in real life human skin and everything either that or make it a virtual reality game online lol where you can be the player but still Virtual Reality would be kinda weird!

Yeah, i think they should make it as real as possible, too. Using indorr environments (personally my favorite) is great because you can put in so many details (You can't put in a large about of details on a large-scale map). It can feel so real when you're playing a game that does very detailed indoor environments.

Looking at Nova's games, they really have something against fine detail

Games based on looks are rather poor in gameplay, Or the maps are very restricted in size...

Eyecandy dont make a game its playability and longativity <-- hmm is that a word...lol

I think you get my drift though..

Well, you do somewhat have a point there. Alot of times graphically enhanced games are somewhat poor in gameplay -- in the longrun, or, "longevity" . Usually games like that have very good single player modes, but multiplayer is bad. Doom 3 is a great example of this - I love single player in that game to death (Forgive my pun) but multiplayer is just plain - pointless.

But, that's only true for like 50% of high-end graphic games. It's not good for a company to be too focused on graphics (and in turn produce poor gameplay) NOR is it good for a company to focus on gameplay (and in turn make poor graphics). The kind of thing i have against Nova is in their map making. They seem to put a lack of detail in things like objects in a map (e.g. desks, chairs, etc) and they think just slapping a building in a 10 KM map makes it interesting.

Although, they've made leaps and bounds with Joint Ops. They still need a new game engine, though
