Sound Card Help

Ok have no clue who manufactures ESS allegro but me and my dad cant find the answer see heres what happened i restarted my computer too much flipping the startup switch too much dont ask why but anyways it screwed my mouse installtion and settings,video card drivers, and sound up i fixed it all but i can figure out why sound wont come up we cant access volume control or turn the volume up cause we cant fix the error so we can it swas once in the MIDI but we fixed it all and then an unknown error occured! We have tried many ideas and reinstalled it some program is conflictin with it plus i have all these weird new entrys in my system ini that are weird and i dont think i can remove them but edit and i dont know if its the cause! We were thinking a Windows Reinstall but if i can fix it no point! Ive removed TS to try to fix no new info to that but i know Chief or someone can help me manually and Chief if you see this i need help!

if you have "my Computer" on desk top right click-on it>
see "Properitys" click-on it> see "Hardware" tap up top click-on it> very top you should see "Device Manager to the right see button> "[Device manager]" click-on it:

look down the listing [+] sound, Video and game controllers
right click-on the [+] to exspand the listing.



[be connected to the internet]
each item right click-on them "one at a time" see update drivers select it> check [o] instill the software automatically [Recommended] [then click [Next]


it will ether start instilling the right drivers for it or it say i can't find a better driver for this item.

it will search the system and the windows update site for a better driver.

would not be a bad ID to do this on each item and go to MS windows update site see if they have a fix for it. they have update release all the time.

last thing you can do is right click-on anything to do with the sound or video ether one not both and right click-on it remove it totally then reboot system, after it rebooting it should clear it up and reinstill the hardware on it own.

ok all so if you see a ? anywere in the device manager right click-on it open up preproities in that item see if it disable if so undisable it [uncheck it or select it]

do you have "Norton goback 4" or "System restore" enable? if so go back to a earlier time/date and reset it to were it did work good for you.


how did this come to be anyways you was doing great some time now! now this? did you added in a new hardware or software to the system?

No Cheif ive already tried many system restore points none will succesfully work! Its the first thing i tried! My dads pretty good with computers somewhat depending what it is he tried several things hiself it all started cause i restarted my computer too much flipping the backup switch that starts my computer on to much lol wasnt thinking i was talking to someone and kept playing with it and it screwed things up i fixed the mall like i said but the sound!

As for living i say we did and i will look into ur step Chief although my dad suggest we go ahead and fo a partial restore or full depending if the partial works! Partial will fix all the files on windows i think he said and so on!

Anyways like i said since it leaves you even clueless i suggest we have no choice i made backups still got one thing left to backup!

Also about Zone Alarm i though the Free Version allowed you to scan your computer!

It didnt help Jar to much on BHD when he got hit by the wormhole or whatever i had this same virus once before and most of the time its impossible to access your computer and bypass the blue screen!

sorry to hear about the worm bit, its not zonealarm letting it in, a anti-virus program handles that part of it.

if you two got the worm has no then to do with firewalls at all. Anti-virus programs block and scan for them 7/24

avast is the best. www.avast.com home version is free.

LMAO Jar was only one to get hit chief i havent been hit by it in a long time!

some more ive used i cant think of i either used Spyware Blaster or Spyware Guard im sure!

Also for those tha use Kazaa i used this when i wanted to remove it cause when you unistall it it hides some of the components and i recommend if you have unistalled it before or recently unistalled to use it!

be warn not all anti-adware programs on the INTERNET come without ad-ware of their own, they may remove others and then load it own ad-ware in.

there been some fake ones running around for downloads tech-support are going crazy to get these fake anti-ad-ware programs were.

been on the news be careful OK
