Help please

question if i make a map single player will it auto END
if all AI are dead?
second i tried dumping th npj file into the npj to mis program
and using the JOIC med my ai dont all show up and buldings
are in the air and some building have even had lateral movement. you guys program this stuff and just throw it out to the community and dont bother to fix it. IT Really would be nice if yo would fix this please...not just this converter but all of these tools that have errors or limitations please fix them... that would be so great you wouldnt belive to be able to just drop the npj in and and out comes a perfect MIS file you edit it with the med and every thing turns out perferc with
no head aches to clean up.....In the mean time i ned help ending this map i have 172 ai 3 of them are respawning
so i cant include them in the end programming.

to wet your appitite here is the briefing


Goals:
1. First get rid of the snipers That surround your base.
2. There are three area's of combat destroy all The AI and all the electronic
equipment radios and computer equipment the are some defenders between
the nain area's destroy them all.



Hints:
-Hint 1 - get to the barn with the armory fast
-Hint 2 - there are a few AI designed just tobe a nusience thru out the entire
game you can kill them but they will come back so move your Buns....
-Hint 3- its best to snipe the perimter of each area in groups and use the helis to transport the snipers
-Hint 4 - Once the perimiters are clean you can move in on the compounds
-Hint 5 - there is the ranch compound , the warehouse and the church all heavilly defended.

No it wont auto end.

if u want joint ops to win.

if u want rebels to win.

My advice is stick with the one editor.

every time I type Blue for the team win it results team 0

well it looks liike group dead wont work but ssndead will
nova needs to fix that cause i i got 172 ai and ssndead will be teadious and time consuming and if the nile worked with groups properly i could just group them and be done about it to releae the map for all to enjoy but no nova has to go and fire the author/programmer for the nile and then just leave us all hanging.... well ill try some more experiments
to see if its me or the way im programming events

But it must be either win 1 or win 2 to end it.
Thats about ya only option when it comes to all ai dead to end ya mission , it sux i know but not much we can do bout it!

what you are saying works i tried it on a smaller map to see if i was doing it right

is 172 AI too much?

you can have 225 ai but if ya going to ssn dead all of them its guna be a long piece of code, and sometimes ai go missing when coop maps are played online, so pick about ten of them, put them in places where ya know people would of had to of kill most of the other ai to get to them ,then it will give u the effect of all ai being dead.

yea i think ill do that like choose a number of ai from each area say 5 to 7 each area at random
, or should just delete the ones i dont include and just leave 3 or 4 that arnt included but arnt where you cant get to them so theres atleast some difficulty to make the map chalengeing or fun what say your opinion on that?

Yep choose some at random in each area coz chances are peolple will shoot anything that shoots at them anyway , so yeh just pick certain amount in each area and put afew near the end of the map that way players just carnt go straight to the last psp or end of the map and kill the ending trigger they will have to run around and find all ai!

well i reduced aito 125+/- and my list is about 54
for end game all are easy to get to accept for snipers
7 snipers you have to eliminate them i moved the one not seen to where they can be but yo must hurry to the armory
you dont have much time before one gets you thier accuracy is not 100% but one will get you if you laze around.
then follow tree line and eliminate the enemy theres a 2 componds a wharehouse and a church

OK nile does NOT recognize anything writen by hand
in the wac it saves overwrites and all hand written stuff is gone
another stupid is as stupid does from nova...i just wish programmers didnt do things 1/2 @ and would read Apple Computers Human Interface Guidelines. a book that should be absolute BIBLE to all programmers on how to interface thier PROGRAM to the end user... " rant and Rave.."

Under level properties untick grenerate wac, this will stop nile from over writing you hand writen wac file, but make sure u do all your other events u want to do with nile first then hand edit it, if generate wac is unticked nile will not ova write hand writen wacs it but it will also not generate any other events u have done in nile after its been unticked, so once u have done everything else u want to do in nile, untick genreate wac so it cant be ova writen if u have to open nile again to do something.

i thought the ai system was dead in the nile ( IE getting the ai to do stuff) but i discovered i was using wrong syntaxt.
the ai commands need th if never statement before they will
attach to gun implacements or heli's.....hmmmm this changes things now it will take a while as deep thought looms over this map a while

well im trying to get a heli to follow a set of waypoints
but it just sits there with the ai in it any help appreciated
i have tried with and without the if never cant post code its on the other machine will post code later tnx for help gene

if ur using the dfx med, tell the heli to follow the waypoints, not the driver.

Yup diito on mstenger comment and also make the radius of the waypoint makers bigger so the pilot can see them, just about ever command needs if never ! should look like this

if never() and (Never()) then //new event
SSNtoWP(67381,4)

If you want someone to use a 50 cal it should look something like this

if never() and (Never()) then //new event
SSN2SSN(1846,66618)

Or u can use the unit use command.
