Snow help

Hi

Can anyone assist with the possibility of creating a map with snow.

I have seen maps which appear to have "White" tiles placed on the landscape which looks ideal, but I can't find a white tile anywhere.

Vanilla DFBHD has no snow assets. A few good mods do, but using mods in DFBHD is a slog for a newb, and it'll drain your stamina getting into them these days.

I can give you these tips: with the right lighting, dim and bluish, some concrete tiles look snowy. Otherwise, you have to use the one tile with double runway stripes (tile 40 in set trntile8) and arrange them on top of each other to cover all the gaps between the stripes. I just tested it and it took 912 tiles to cover a 225m square. On my crate, weird dark lines appear all over the tiles when viewed from a distance. It looks bad.

The maximum number of tiles you can use in the MEd is 6144, then subtract the total number of other items you have in your map.

If you know what you're doing in your preferred image manipulation app, you could try making you own new mission specific tile sets.

Also, keep in mind: if you insert a road tile over a grass (or concrete or snow) tile and the grass (or concrete or snow) is covering it, select the road tile and press ENTER to open the Tile Select dialog. Assign the road tile to a layer with a higher number. It will now appear on top of the grass (or concrete or snow) tile.

So if the grass (or concrete or snow) tile is in layer 1, the road tile is in layer 2, adding an explosion scorch tile to layer 3 will put it on top of both of the others.

Hi there, can you use DF2 snow terrains, you know, extract the terrains, then pack a small bhd mod.pff

I'm pretty sure there might be some terrain packs in the NovaHQ Files dB as well.
