ad-aware question

the ad-watch ..thing that comes along with ad-aware keeps going off ..

"winlogon.exe" is trying to execute or alter some "massive file directory name here"

and it'll be like at least 20 notifications of this .. some of what it says is diffrent .. but its saying the same thing basically over and over

is this some kind of lame worm or a virus doing this? or is the program blocking a normal system function

i have windows service pack 3

would help if we knew what the massively long directory is - winlogon.exe is a needed file - with out it you won't be able to logon or logoff your computer.

Does an anti-virus scan say any thing about it?

i think winlogon keep track of things and when you ether power down or restart the system it save info. beside startup item per-user who log-on.

windoows log-on is a must and your adware scanner is goofing up big time!

you can take a 2nd chance scan by other software programs online most do it free.

today adware software scan seem more of a over kill then in the pass!

call me irresponsible but i'm pretty sure that would stop it nagging
there is a lot of ppl with the same issue with ad-watch, i just looks like winlogon is a busy process. ive had probs with winlogon before using 99% cpu but a reboot always sorts it out. i've not looked into winlogon.exe that much personally.
