An adult friend of mine says there's 6 months left to get updates, etc. for XP since it's not gonna get supported any more.

Is this true?

will chris Windows 2000pro still getting updates still for it got a new update like 8 files for high security last thruday.

i think windows xp still be getting more update as time pass that point.

when windows xp first came out they said they will no longer support it pass 2008, but there is SP3 that is coming out for it still, its 98% done. what i understand is still due out.

plus Windows Xp is still being sold online as will in some retail stores. not seen window vista in the local store only seen windows XP & XP pro.

I was thinking the same as you regarding SP3... It would be weird if they stopped supporting it then released SP3... Maybe they'll release SP3 before stopping support...

Windows XP will begin its "Extended Support" period that will last for 5 years until 2014. First generation Windows XP (without Service Pack 2) is no longer supported; Microsoft ended the support for Windows XP RTM on September 30, 2004 and Windows XP Service Pack 1 and 1a on October 10, 2006.
