BT = w@nkers..

for the 3rd month now BT is claiming i am over using...

1st month - 160GB
2nd month - 80GB
3rd month - 61GB

funny how netlimiter shows that im actually only using approx. 30GB a month

any1 know a decent provider that doesnt "fix" ur useage in the way BT does... im sorry but my HD is only 220GB so id love 2 know how i used a total of nearly 300GB..

note -
bhd = aprox 1GB
BF2 = 5-6GB
steam folder = 5GB (has bn on an external hard drive for over a year now..)
swat 4 = 2GB

any suggestions?

I've had Blueyonder for about 2 years now, sometimes they go offline for upgrades, but I can live with that!.
always on, no download limit, and decent prices.
they walked me through one bad problem about a year ago, they really helped, and I'm gonna stay with them for a long time, not sure how they compare with BT price-wise

seems a bit weird Mr BB :/

you have a wireless router something? i know we had someone from the local area on our connection lol. soon put an end to that.

just keep netlimiter on i would suggest.

but you might be suprised how much bandwidth you can use just by browsing and watching streaming media.

160GB would seem very high. we can use upto 50gb/week and that's between four of us on a 2mb connection. good job we don't have a faster connection :/

nah m8, my router doesnt support wireless, and theres 2 pc's connected to it (the older pc is 1 my parents use jst 2 check emails and it uses no more than 1GB for the month..)

im looking at moving provider.. but i got netlimiter running all the time, and if they even think about saying ive gone ovr again ill jst b passing on the details for the last few months 2 my aunt whos a solicitor..

netlimiter doesnt lie at all, its bn correct on all the tests ive done with it.. i sent BT an email asking them where they gt their info from and they tld me 2 shove it...

i'm with pipex, and have unlimited bandwidth, something which seems to be getting rarer and rarer these days :/ (or is it just me).

they - like most companies - have a fair use condition, they will cap your rate (in the evening only) if they deem you to be using too much bandwidth. last time i phoned them up, the guy actually chuckled when he saw mow much bandwidth we were using, however we were not on the list to be capped. they seem like a reasonable company to me.

i preferred Blueyonder but we dont get cable here, so ADSL it is ATM.

Damn ya'll it may be cheaper for you to move to the states than search for unlimited bandwidth over there lol. I had 8megs from Time Warner Cable for 79$ a month thank god there was no bandwidth limits with the network in the house lol.

"Bandwidth limit"? What's that?

BB check your online encryption options in Admin panel. WAP I believe.

BB its very easy to go over your limit when you stream things, that is why you dont see it when you check your HD, When you stream something its like a temp file that is deleted.

If you have watched the movies on that link you posted not too long ago I think it is easy to go over...

I have 10meg NTL here there are no limits, I used to have a 75gig a month usage but now its Unlimited.

Must be a pain to have a bandwidth limit, never had one so I don't know how much a pain it is.

Scattergun, theres differences in prices in every country.. lol

u can get up to 16MB down and 3MB up for residential for around £40 a month here (around $50-65) but only in selected areas, however NTL is testing out fibre-optic connections with a select few customers

still trying to get my MAC code, the last 2 times ive tried theyve tried 2 talk me out of it and i got fed up..

BB the MAC address of your router should be printed on the bottom of it m8.

Realizing now that they may remove that sticker...open up a command prompt and execute ipconfig/all

If there is too much and you can't see it all execute ipconfig/allmore

The MAC address will be the 12 character Physical Address listed.

BB sounds like alot are getting problems whether it be the usage or the connection as my dad is having crap from them saying he has the 8Mb conn but only get a meg or so and the stupid retards told him that it was the microwave that was next to his comp.( but he doesnt have a microwave in the bedroom)..
U should switch to NTl or something coz i am the same conn as sal and there is 99.99% uptime(well thats with my conn.) they only ever do updates now and again lasting less that a few minutes maybe less.
