my dvd players acting odd

it can't read DVD sample Godzilla king of all monster, can't play them movies anymore, but it can read Cds/ DVDs data ok

but will not read movies files

OS Windows 10pro 64b 8Gb

don't matter what DVD hardware drive I use, think it a windows drivers or firmware?

ill I think the print on the DVDs gone bad, found other they read good, but the print has pen holes it in, I can see light through the print cover on the DVDs

Sometimes a good CD / DVD burner can still get the movie in CD RIP or BURN function.

Find the CD / DVD Burner software disk project settings and look for any settings like "over-sampling and error correction" and set a low speed Data to Burn Rate and get it to varify the compilation as well.

Burn to a Disk Drive location or ISO, not a real DVD to save time and possibly avoid write errors.

Mount the ISO or find some software to extract and convert the movies in the ISO to a video player format - AVI MP4
