Converting .wav files to PCM format

If you want to use the 'Dialog Editor' for custom sounds in your map, you should need to convert the .wav file to PCM format. But if you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, the 'Sound Recorder' that can do that don't have anymore support to convert to PCM format, only Windows XP. So you need to use 'Audacity', a free audio editor program.

*I used the sound '10MC521'.*
*Links in bottom of page.*

1- Open Audacity then click 'File':

2- Then click 'Open':

3- After that, select your .wav sound.

4- So, after you opened your file, click 'File' again, then click 'Export Selection':

5- When you click 'Export Selection', choose where you want to save the file, choose a name then select 'WAV (Microsoft) 16bit PCM':

6- After that, you can use the 'Dialog Editor' with the converted PCM wav sound:

Talking about the unlocked editor, you can do most of it anyway in any Delta Force with a good binary editor as here...
begin item 1
type_id 1654
name "Pakistani soldier #2"
iai_name ""
ai_textfile ""
id 56
position -201024 146143 0
facing 180 0
team 1
wpdistance 10
fov 180
obliqueness 15
waccuracy1 100
waccuracy2 100
perception2 100
perfectionist2 100
crouchtimer 3
shoottimer 5
attention 30
advancetimer 10

max_attack_distance 16
edistances 16 320
extra_mlink ""
extra_val1 0
extra_val2 0
extra_val3 0
extra_val4 0
extra_val5 0

extra_valmode 0
extra_bheight 0
gen_string "null"
end item

interesting hey?
PS...I know it works in DFX2 for sure...
