360 freezes

The thing is made and programmed by Microsoft out of components that you can find in a PC

All boxes freeze now and then, it just that you can't ctrl alt del.

Don't worry too much about it unless it happens frequently with ALL games.

The game I have most likely to freeze is Forza 2 when I'm picking a car in multiplayer.
Saints Row (original) would sometimes do it too.

Most likely cause of RRoD is a faulty ROM Drive.
Don't panic about the odd freeze up. If it becomes a problem take it back to the dudes you bought it from and see if they will help you out.

Meantime.

Keep the area around the box well ventilated and cool.
You could try disconnecting all leads from your router so there is no xbox live connection. I know that sometimes it is the background LIVE workings that screw me around.

OR

You could try and join the class action suit in Florida. (but only if you do get RRoD)

Doing anything on the 360 kills the life time - common sense. Same applies to TVs, etc...

i don't think you can possibly hurt it by simply using the damn thing.

but yea one day you'll go to play it .. you get in the game .. it freezes .. you do your familiar start up thing .. but when it gets to the xbox logo thing it'll freeze .. shut off, and there's your evil three red lights.

it's happend just like that twice in a row. i gave up and gave my xbox to my brother .. cause they take like three months to get you a new one.

but if you remember from back in the day, when you know .. sonic or mario cart froze, you took the cartridge out and blew the dust out? in the actual console too. i'm sure the same can be done with like a compressor or like those air can thingies .. cause thats all what was wrong with my ps3 when that started fookin up

The RROD was a problem on the early 360's because they got too hot and was melting the solder on the boards. The newer systems have better cooling and have less problems with that. My elite system had a rom drive go out but they has been fixed.

As to taking 3 months was not the case around here. Mine took the longest and they had actually just sent me a new console since they didnt have the a new rom drive for it. My brother and my cousin have some of the first 360's and had both got the RROD and sent them from here. All 3 consoles came back fairly quickly. Mine took about 1 month while the other 2 were back within 3 weeks. I have had no other problems other than an it froze a few times but not too often. My cousins has had no other problems and my brother has only had a rom drive problem since.


Oh and i leave my console on 24/7 just like all my pc's.

Sounds like a general bad design for the 360. Always seems to be somthing going wrong with them.
