Analog Video Acquisition

ok, i have an ATI Radeon X1600 PRO with VIVO (video in - video out) technology, and i'm goin to learn video editing and stuff...
today a friend phoned me and asked for a video edit
he has the video to edit on a videocassette, so i'm gona use the analog acquisition of my graphics card....how???
i tried Windows Movie Maker (just to start, the work is very simple) but when i choose to acquire video stupph the program tells no acquisition devices are present....damn microsoft i guess...

anyone can help?? maybe it's better to use another program, i heard Ulead Video Studio is good....

advice??

thanks

i have a videorecorder with a SCART- to - video composite (video-audoleft-audioright) cable, i think i could use it, anyway the card has 3 ports: standard monitor port, SVideo (i have the adapter to video composite and an adapter given with the card SVideo - to - 3 red, green and blue composites, dunno what it is..), and a strange port scart-like with an adapter to standard monitor....i think i have to use the red-green-blue thing (maybe they are videoin, videoout and bho??)
i really dunno where to start, maybe i should read the manual, but i have to do this thing for friday, so advice would be appreciated...thanks

no, ok, all done, Radeon X1600 PRO HAS NOT VIDEO CAPTURE CAPABILITIES!!! its equipped with Avivo technology, not VIVO. Avivo is a digital video enhancing technology, the scart-like port is for flat panel displays, and the red-green-blue adapter is for HDTV..........::sob::.

no video capture for me......
