Angry Xbox Hard drive...

so Yesterday I finally got the RRoD so i thought No problem!!! I'll return it to best buy and they'll give me a new Xbox. I thought I would be able to keep the old 20GB hard drive but they told me oh no! the 20GB is not compatible with the newer pro (Which comes with a 60GB hard drive only 40GB more) so they told me a data transfer cost $59.99 (USD) so i asked why cant they just slap on the old hard drive on the newer Xbox and they said its an older model! this pissed me off really good so i want to ask you guys... If i have the older 20GB and slap it on to the newer version of the Xbox pro will it work???

Yes, they just wanted to stiff you for $60. That hard drive has not changed since the xbox's release. You can get a free transfer cable from MS to transfer your data.

Why would you buy a pro to replace a RROD xbox? The arcade is $100 cheaper. Plus you get free games and a free memory card. You could have taken that $100 and got a 120GB HD.

If you already paid I would take your receipt back and complain to the manager until you get your $60 back. You should not have paid for that service. If you don't get anywhere with a local manager, write a letter to the regional manager and send a copy to http://consumerist.com/ They love this kind of stuff
