Any SMART mapper wouldn't deliberately slow his PC down by having such flashy images as a desktop, sucking valuable ram to display an image for mere seconds, if you are at the pc, then you are mostly doing something, not just wasting time gazing at an image, gamers and mappers then post comments wondering why there pc is so slow.

Many adolescant gamers and mappers, don't care or are indifferent to the image, many images I've seen are absolutly huge in real life situations, many are the size of a door, then video card then has to CRUNCH the image to fit your desktop, this does suck serious resources.
wait an see......

Unless your PC is so high end it really does not matter how razzle dazzle your desktop is, anything novalogic related is too insignificant to be considered a resource heavy program.

Also the quad core and windows 7 part helps a lot.

edit: btw if anyones wondering why my CPU usage is maxed out its because i'm running prime95 in the background, mersenne prime numbers just don't find themselves you know.
edit edit: I can run a virus scan, defrag my hdds, and play games while prime95 is running and still get 60 fps in all of the games that I usually get 60 fps. Windows 7 + QQ for the win.
