I found the update on Novalogics site, but now I get an error message and can not open the game, but I did see your server, if I could fix this I'll be there to play, can you help?

Yo Sweed, thanks for your time. I am a bit of a knucklehead with some of this stuff so please bare withe me here. First, I see that the ICQ is a means for instant meessaging and you asked that I add you, how? and how do I get my own ICQ so I can instant message? I will try to figure it out but thought to ask should you get to this before I get it sorted out. many thanks my friend.

You can download ICQ at www.icq.com. Add the number i listed above. When u add me i will reviece a msg and we will then talk from there.

reminder only:
don't for get to set DF1 the shortcut Properties> compatibility mod to windows 98/ Me

you make a shortcut to desktop then right click-on shortcut select "Properties" in there you see compatibility tab select that and change (check the box) compatibility mod select windows 98/Me, then click-on apply and ok

if your running a newer windows system that is need to do that

Thanks Obraino. I did that too, checked for cpmpatibility doe Win 98 and Me. No help, so I just a few minutes ago uninstalled DF1 the reloaded it, I was able to see the game site IP mentioned by Sweed, but could not get on because I had not yet updated the game I guess, so then I went on Novalogic site and downloaded the upgrade. After that, I can't even open the game, I now get all these error messages! What's going on, is this not the correct upgrade? This stinks!

Ok here follow these steps per word.

1. Uninstall DF and is folder
2. Reinstall DF
3. Download this update. Click here
4. Download this and run it properly. CLICK HERE
5. Open your ports on your router. Ports are 3568 and 3569 UDP and TCP ports*** NOTE** if u were able to see my ip before in the game,your ports are configured right.***
6. Come join our server!

Yo Sweed, I did all you listed and still get error messages. The game won't even open after I apply the updates. I get these error messages; "wizpatch error! Could not create file "night.pal" for reading/writing". Then I get another message that says, "Can not open file dferror.bin". When I go to click off that, I get about 3 or 4 more before the window closes and I get a message; DF.exe not responding. This seems like it all messed up. What do you think? Seems like this is finished. Novaworld has lost a great thing, too bad.
