Wink Win XP

I have one last question about D.F. and Win XP.
Since i've done everything i possibly can to get my D.F. working on XP and it doesn't support it.
What are the possibilities of using another D.F. game and if that doesn't work. Is there a chance that there will be a new D.F. game that Win XP will support in the very near, near future? Like ohhh i don't know maybe tomorrow? lol
B.T.W. I was using the first D.F. disc.
Thx.
I come in peace...

Confused

DF: LW, TFD, BHD and newer ones that Novalogic.Inc is coming out will work.

don't know if DF: 2 will work have not tested it. think it will for Windows 2000 some times a game work for win/2000 will also work with Win/Xp it should work ok.

now if some one can make a patch for DF1, it should still work on NW servers. they would have to have the know how to do it.

Does it also let you logon to the server to play the online games like the first D.F. ?

yea it a super good game same with DFTFD.

only DFBHD like to use super great pc's if your on the low end best pass on it. Video-card 128mb and the system is high speed. you can read what they say on the box to see what the game needs to work great.

log-on any of the newer games like: DF: LW, TFD, BHD you make a account up and a name and password to log-in to play the game and have a account at: www.novaworld.com were your stats and member info is use for all to look over. by the way your account will have a PCID: number to it, one per cd-key code you can change your name but you can't change the PCID: at all you be counted for.

A plus for gotten it all so has a S-Cable output and input for it you like to record you game play to your VCR. You can now only you be needing a Box to S-cable to Video plug's hookup, if you lucky you can buy a VCR with the S-Cable hookup on it already them box's cost around 80-140 bucks not cheap for a converter box from S-cable to Video hookup 2-3 plugs 1-video 2-audio out put to VCR.

i found what one has to do get it to work in Windows Xp or in my case Windows Xp pro (OEM)

step:
connect to Novaworld servers
1.) turn off the internal firewall (Windows firewall BEST get another firewall to use)
A.) go to "Start/Connect to" your item you use to connect to right click-on it.
B.) see "Properties" click-on it.
C.) See a tap "Advanced" click-on it
B.) see under Advanced a option "Internet connection firewall"
uncheck it.
windows will say you are leaveing your self wide open click-ok
(best have a firewall get one asap before disable this. i have norton firewall to cover me).

2.) Make it to work with Windows Xp serials:
A.) do this by going to "df.exe" right click-on.
B.) see "Properties" click-on it.
C.) see Tap up top "Compatibility" click-on it.
D.) you then see a option "Compatibility mode"
E.) check it and set it to ether Windows 95 or Windows 98 / Windows Me. (i have it set to windows 95)
F.) after click-on "Apply", and after click-on "ok" your set.

the Compatibility mode was made by microsoft. so you can use older games or programs that are not setup for windows xp or windows xp pro, I think Windows 2003 is the same way (server program) can't say 100% if this is the case or not don't have it.

Compatibility mode is only setup for Windows 95, 98/Me,2000, Net 4 (service pack 5) thats all the windows it cover. i am happy that they added-in that option for all of us to use.

I was doing that all along when i had WIN 98, but now all i get is a blank screen.
I even went to the DF icon on my desktop and went into the properties area in the icon and checked all that out and it changed my video display when it was loggin onto Novaworld but when i went to go into a room the screen went black and stayed that way.
I'm not sure what else it could be.
