OK, I am new here, let me say sweet site! I totally love DF games! Now some questions:

1. In an online game of DF1 or 2, do positions of others in the game show up on your GPS map?

2. How are maps used? (not installed!) Are they just for playing online? Or are they kind of like an expansion pack level?

3. How do you get recruited(sp?) for a team? Do you have to play all of the time or is casual play generally excepted?


Sorry for such lame questions, but hey, I'm new!!!

(1.) Only your team shows up on your GPS.
(2.) Maps are used to provide an unlimted ammount of levels to play on. Without custom maps, the games would have died a long time ago. You can make Multiplayer maps or single player maps with the mission editer. They are avaliable in our downloads section.
(3.) You have to play in squad servers and be a good player and a good sport.

I would say that each squad's criteria to recruit varies also. Some squads expect you to attend regular practices and matches while others may be pretty loose or casual and are happy to have you on board for pick up games here and there. It is best to ask for the squad's website when playing in their room to see the kind of squad they are before you sign on the dotted line. lol. It is a two way street and you are also looking for a squad that you feel good to be a part of. So you can ask any player during a game 1. If his squad is recruiting? 2. Do they have a website, email, ICQ for you to contact them. and then go from there. Good luck...jet=dfu=
