The 1990's...back in the good days...

if you are under the age of 12...you shouldnt even read this

and if you do, you should not repost this.

Just because you were born in '97 doesn't mean you're a 90's kid.

It's not like you could remember the original Simpsons. I am sorry but three conscious years of the 90's just wont cut it.

You're a 90's kid if:

You can finish this [ice ice _ _ _ _ ]

You remember watching:
-Doug
-Ren & Stimpy
-Pinky and the Brain
-AAAAAAAH Real Monsters!
-Rockos modern Life.
-Wacky Racing

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"

You just cant resist finishing this . . . "Iiiiiiin west philidelphia born and raised . . ."

You remember:
-TGIF
-Step by Step
-Family Matters
-Dinosaurs
-Boy Meets World.

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You remember when they actually played music on MTV and it was the good ****.

If you remember the Rocky and Socko show on MTV and they played non-stop metal. Real metal. Not the scream until your lungs collapse kinda ****.Like Cannibal Corpse and ****.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence . . .

when everything was settled by:
-rock paper scissors
-bubble gum bubble gum in a dish
-daddy had a donkey inky binky bonky.
-buffalo bill

when cops and robbers was a daily activity.

when we played hide and go seek until our legs grew numb.

when we used to obey our parents.

You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record your FAVORITE song of ALL time.

"Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" was both a game and a TV game show.

Captain Planet. He's a Hero.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green ranger, were meant to be together. ♥♥♥

You remember when Super Nintendos and Sega Genisis became popular.

You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos . . . but never taped anything funny.

You remember watching Home Alone 1, 2 , and 3 . . . and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"

You remember watching:
-The Magic School Bus
-Wishbone
-Reading Rainbow on PBS.

You remember when Yo-Yos were cool.

You remember those Where's Waldo books.

You remember eating Warheads.

You remember watching:
-the 1st Batman
-Aladdin
-Ninja Turtles
-3 Ninjas movies.

You remember Ring Pops.

You remember drinking Surge and Tang.

If you remember when every thing was "da BOMB!"

When they made the new lunchables so that you could make pizza AND tacos.

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players.

Making those little paper fortune cookie things, and then predicting your life with them.

You played and/or collected "Pogs"

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet, or Nano and brought it everywhere.

One word. . . Furbies.

You haven't always had a computer, and it was cool to have the internet.

And Windows 95/98 was the best.

You watched the original cartoons of Rugrats, Power Rangers, and Ninja Turtles.

Michael Jordan was a king.

YIKES pencils and erasers were the stuff!

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.

You remember when the new Beanie Babies and Talking Elmo were always sold out

You collected those Beanie Babies.

Carebears

Gak was the coolest stuff invented.

Lambchop's song never ended.

The old dollar bills.

Silver dollars, which were cool to have.

You remember a time before the WB.

You collected all the Troll dolls

If you even know what an original walkman is.

You remember wanting to sit on the orange Nickelodeon couch.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" . . . 'nuff said.

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You went to McDonald's to play in the playplace.

You remember playing on merry-go-rounds at the playground.

Before the MySpace frenzy . . .

Before the Internet & cell phones . . .

Before Sidekicks & iPods . . .

Before MIKE JONES . . .

Before the PlayStation or X-BOX . . .

Before Spongebob . . .

Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.

When light up sneakers were cool.

When you rented VHS tapes and Nintento 64/Super games, not DVDs and CDs.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded
stuff on VCRs.

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off of our walkman.

When checking out drawing books and that one book about the rainbow fish from the library was THE cool thing to do.

You had slap bracelets!

Back when we thought the day jan 1, 2000 all computers would fail and aliens would invade...

I was born in 1984 - I can only relate to 5% of that lol

yeah, 95 was cool - I remember when we upgraded to it from windows 3.1... lost my favorite game at the time: Chex Quest 2 (or maybe it was when we went from 95 to 98)

never watched Magic School bus - until the past couple years (yes, it is one of my favorite cartoons)

I can't finish ice ice ______ ... what is it? lol

Ice Ice baby

Vanilla Ice...cmon man :P

Quote:
Yo VIP let's kick it

Ice ice baby (x2)
All right stop collaborate and listen
Ice is back with my brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Flow like a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop yo I don't know
Turn off the lights and I'll glow
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle
Dance go rush to the speaker that booms
I'm killing your brain like a poisonous mushroom
Deadly when I play a dope melody
Anything less than the best is a felony
Love it or leave it you better gain weight
You better hit bull's eye the kid don't play
If there was a problem yo I'll solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it

CHORUS
Ice ice baby vanillla (x4)

Now that the party is jumping
With the bass kicked in and the vegas are pumpin'
Quick to the point to the point no faking
I'm cooking MC's like a pound of bacon
Burning them if you ain't quick and nimble
I go crazy when I hear a cymbal
And a hi-hat with a souped up tempo
I'm on a roll and it's time to go solo
Rollin' in my 5.0
With my rag-top down so my hair can blow
The girlies on standby waving just to say hi
Did you stop no I just drove by
Kept on pursuing to the next stop
I busted a left and I'm heading to the next block
The block was dead
Yo so I continued to A1A Beachfront Avenue
Girls were hot wearing less than bikinis
Rockman lovers driving Lamborghinis
Jealous 'cause I'm out getting mine
Shay with a guage and Vanilla with a nine
Reading for the chumps on the wall
The chumps acting ill because they're so full of eight balls
Gunshots rang out like a bell
I grabbed my nine all I heard were shells
Falling on the concrete real fast
Jumped in my car slammed on the gas
Bumpet to bumper the avenue's packed
I'm trying to get away before the jackers jack
Police on the scene you know what I mean
They passed me up confronted all the dope fiends
If there was a problem yo I'll solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it

REPEAT CHORUS

Take heed 'cause I'm a lyrical poet
Miami's on the scene just in case you didn't know it
My town that created all the bass sound
Enough to shake and kick holes in the ground
'Cause my style's like a chemical spill
Feasible rhymes that you can vision and feel
Conducted and formed
This is a hell of a concept
We make it hype and you want to step with this
Shay plays on the fade slice like a ninja
Cut like a razor blade so fast other DJs say damn
If my rhyme was a drug I'd sell it by the gram
Keep my composure when it's time to get loose
Magnetized by the mic while I kick my juice
If there was a problem yo I'll solve it
Check out the hook while Shay revolves it

Ice ice baby vanilla
Ice ice baby (oh-oh) vanilla
Ice ice baby vanilla
Ice ice baby vanilla ice
Yo man let's get out of here
Word to your mother
Ice ice baby too cold
Ice ice baby too cold too cold (x2)
Ice ice baby
ahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

the thing that came close to a computer was a car and the telephone company billing besides computers using IBM cards, mom and dad working at a news paper company San Jose Calif, back in them days, Tv was black and white till 1972 we got a color Tv set a RCA.

my hero was old super man B/W serials, and some baby hero's cartoon. comic books was the things back then as will.

something bad musthave happened to me, i was born in 82 but cant remember any of it, cours have had some head trama because of me sister, lol.

what i can remember.........
when was 5 had 1 of those little ridem cars that looked like a volkswagon bug, it had the little stering weel on top and a seat on the roof, she did a big spin caught me upside the head and knocked me cold a a cucumber, 1 of the head tramuas.

when was 7 was running up and down the hall and she grabbed me and i went stumbling into the tv putting a dent in me head i still have today.

was in the swimming pool, we were wrestling when we was 6 or 7, our mom distracted us but i was underwater with some1 sitting on my head and if mom hadnt of come over i would have probably drowned.

had so many things happen to me that i technecly should have died ,lol.

cept fer saterday morning cartoons and the horrable ways i bout died, i cant remember anything, lol.

trying to figure what moron decided to move bugsbunny a tweety show to cable and sattalite.

and never had a nintindo till later, the games i learned on was the old atari games like pitfall, armor ambush, pole position and pac man, even had 1 that was like pong that ya used the paddle controlls.

finaly got a nintindo when i was like 12 or 13, i modified the pistol controll to where ya actually had to aim it to get the duck in duck hunt.

Every summer the kids in my neighborhood woke up at 7am to go out and play basketball. Then we would play baseball the rest of the day. During the school-year it was the same thing pretty much. Baseball/Basketball during the day and maybe some football. We never watched tv until we had to go in for the night or unless a good cartoon was on

The sh*tty thing about tv today is that there are no good cartoons on anymore. Bugs Bunny, Wiley Coyote, Roadrunner, Daffy, Looneytoones, doug, all that, nickelodeon's friday night shows...everything is gone! I will admit, there are better shows on though. 24, The Shield, etc., etc...

There were some good TV shows in the 90's. Admittedly i only remember the later 90's, but you had the likes of profiler, the pretender, millenium, the X files and maybe even Diagnosis Murder and Murder She Wrote

OMG! YES YES YES! 90s ftw (i almost just wrote that out...)

You can finish this [ice ice _ _ _ _ ]
Oh yeah...

You remember watching:
-Doug
-Ren & Stimpy
-Pinky and the Brain
-AAAAAAAH Real Monsters!
-Rockos modern Life.
-Wacky Racing
LOL! Man i miss those shows. Rocko was the best.

You remember:
-TGIF
-Step by Step
-Family Matters
-Dinosaurs
-Boy Meets World.
Yep. I think they play some of these really late at night.

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
S*** YES! Oh man....it really was worth it waking up at 7am to watch cartoons! I used to do that all the time. So much, that i'd mistake Friday morning for Saturday and get disapointed to find some early morning news show on TV instead of Rugrats. Then sometimes id get up TOO early (before the sun!) and end up watching some awesome video clips on Rage. I can still remember watching the X-Files video clip, Mission Impossible video clip and the song called "Sugar" I think. I really slow, friggin awesome song. I want it.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"
Yep. Got a tonne of em. They were da bomb back then.

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.
I didnt but a lot of kids did.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence . . .
LOL! YES! Not...

when we played hide and go seek until our legs grew numb.
My favourite game!

when we used to obey our parents.
Indeed. We couldnt resist...

"Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" was both a game and a TV game show.
Thats pure old school.

Captain Planet. He's a Hero.
He is indeed. That show was sweet.

You remember when Super Nintendos and Sega Genisis became popular.
I still have one of them...

You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos . . . but never taped anything funny.
Well here it was Australia's Funnest Home Video Show...and yes i wanted a tape sent in, but we didnt have anything remotely amusing.

You remember watching:
-The Magic School Bus
-Wishbone
-Reading Rainbow on PBS.
Lol yes

You remember when Yo-Yos were cool.
Crap yeah!

You remember those Where's Waldo books.
Wasnt it Where's Wally?

You remember eating Warheads.
Yep.

You remember watching:
-the 1st Batman
-Aladdin
-Ninja Turtles
-3 Ninjas movies.
S*** yeah! Why arent movies as good as these anymore?

If you remember when every thing was "da BOMB!"
Yep

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players.
Oh yeah...now its PS3 vs XBOX360...

Making those little paper fortune cookie things, and then predicting your life with them.
Lol! Every girl in our class had one of them. We used to believe everything they said.

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet, or Nano and brought it everywhere.
I didnt. the only piece of technology i owned was a Super Nes.

One word. . . Furbies.
They were invading!

You haven't always had a computer, and it was cool to have the internet.
I remember being unable to use a computer! I'd accidentally somehow pull the corde out of the monitor and think that i shut the computer down! Then i couldnt use the keyboard. Took me half an hour to find the letter "Q".

And Windows 95/98 was the best.
Oh yeah. My good mate had a "beasty" computer back then and we'd play it non-stop.

You watched the original cartoons of Rugrats, Power Rangers, and Ninja Turtles.
Oh hell yeah. Rugrats was the best.

You remember when the new Beanie Babies and Talking Elmo were always sold out
I remember them...but not being sold out....

You collected those Beanie Babies.
No! Thats absurd...

Carebears
ARGH! Those damn things...

If you even know what an original walkman is.
Yep...i wont say...

You know the Macarena by heart.
Lol Sad but True...

"Talk to the hand" . . . 'nuff said.
Oh yeah

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"
LOL! If you didnt say that you were uncool.

You went to McDonald's to play in the playplace.
Yep. It stank though.

Before the MySpace frenzy . . .
Yep.

Before the Internet & cell phones . . .
Yes! Mobiles were the size of a brick!

Before Sidekicks & iPods . . .
Walkmans ftw

Before the PlayStation or X-BOX . . .
Well there was the PSX...

Before Spongebob . . .
Yes

Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.
Oh yeah...did that ALL the time...

When light up sneakers were cool.
Man i wanted a pair of those so bad. Once one kid got them, teh following day half the kids had em.

When you rented VHS tapes and Nintento 64/Super games, not DVDs and CDs.
LOL!! Nuff said.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.
Yes!

When we recorded
stuff on VCRs.
YEEEES!

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off of our walkman.
Oh s*** yeah...did that crap loads of times.

When checking out drawing books and that one book about the rainbow fish from the library was THE cool thing to do.
Oh yeah!

Back when we thought the day jan 1, 2000 all computers would fail and aliens would invade...
Oh yeah, but i didnt care back then. Back then, we would always be out in the street on our scrawny pushbikes, riding around, talking, doing "burn outs" on people's dirt driveways. Sparking ant wars, palying mock battles, throwing chunks of dirt and mud at each other.

At school when it was recess or lunch, we were always outside. We were out battling for control of the playground. Us boys fought against the girls to hold control of the playground. If not, then we'd head down to the oval and sit on a log and watch people playing cricket, or we'd play tag or chase eagle shadows lol. We were more active than anything back then.

Now look at kids these days. Hunched over keyboards and fearing sunlight. Yeah, i'd say humanity is screwed.

EDIT: Also, one other thing.
Ads werent as sporadic back then as they are now. Back then you'd be lucky to see the same ad twice during an entire TV show.

NOW, you see the same damn ad five times during a single ad break, the ad volume is 50 times louder, and now ads intrude DURING THE SHOW!! I hate free to air TV more than anything!!!!

That was an enlightening read.
