Sex abuser jailed for 4,060 years

rofl

http://www.comcast.net/articles/news...ed.4060.Years/

WEATHERFORD, Texas - A man was sentenced to more than 4,000 years in prison Wednesday for sexually assaulting three teenage girls.

A day after finding James Kevin Pope guilty, jurors sentenced him to 40 life prison terms — one for each sex assault conviction — and 20 years for each of the three sexual performance of a child convictions.

At the request of prosecutors, state District Judge Graham Quisenberry ordered Pope to serve the sentences consecutively, adding up to 4,060 years. He will be eligible for parole in the year 3209, according to the Parker County District Attorney's Office.

"We believe it was a just result," prosecutor Robert DuBoise said, adding that he was "overwhelmed" with the judge's decision to stack the sentences.

Pope, 43, abused the girls for nearly two years. It came to authorities' attention earlier this year after Pope made several inappropriate comments to a friend, who notified Child Protective Services.

During the trial, the teens testified about the abuse, and their sexually explicit photographs were shown as evidence.

But Rick Alley, Pope's defense lawyer, told jurors in closing arguments that the victims were incapable of understanding what happened, the Weatherford Democrat reported in its Wednesday online edition.

"If it was as traumatic as they indicate, they would be able to give you (specific dates and times of the incidents). Simply because it's shocking doesn't make it true," Alley said.

During the sentencing phase of the trial, a U.S. Secret Service agent testified that while examining Pope's home computer, he found more than 200 images of child porn.

Later Wednesday, some jurors said the case was difficult because of the subject matter.

"We were careful not to make any mistakes in viewing and evaluating the evidence," said juror Dale Lewis.

will i think they should put him to sleep and save the tax payer the money, in the end it will cost the tax payer more money to have him lockup! even for 100yrs is way more cheaper put him to sleep for good.

you think about it, each year go by he's lock up amount to a lot money to keep him all lockup.

lets face it no way he can live even a 1000yrs

you could try to freeze him and wake him up after 4060yrs by that time all he known is long gone

sorry sounding cold hearted! but there are other ways to do this.

[added-in]
the cost of any medical care for him when he reach the old age like 65yrs of age will be more as will (150.000.00 or more) the state or feds will have to cover that as will. more money spent to keep him alive to stay lockup longer.

Just a question, why do they do things like that? A sentence for 4000 years... they're not gonna live that long...

think it a state that do not like to put people to death is all or lock them up so they never see day light outside the jail.

see some jail people can get release after serving their time like 10%-20% of jail time, they can get release sooner on parole to live outside the jail to live with limited freedom. 4060yrs that 10% or 20% is still high as hell he be dead long before he get a chance at parole.

i think 4060 is way high for what he did, yes he should pay a price for breaking the law 80yrs or 100yrs maybe. he did not kill the kids he could have.

they give them a time (normally for only like 100), but they do that just encase there is some chance they can get out, which normally they die in there

food ia given to them cheap, but the health care $$$$$ is the top of the line, sleeping area is very low standers, free TV

but they milk them for any calls going out atless they know how to milk them like hell here in the USA

in my opinion, they should just take all the soldiers out of the Middle east, and take all the inmates who want to go and just kill all soldiers, give them a gun and let them loose, lol

don't know you meant that?
ref; take all the soldiers out of the Middle east, and take all the inmates who want to go and "just kill all soldiers"

you do know some will think of you a bet odd for saying that. like KB and some other member who are real life soldiers serving their Country with Pride today right now.

yea i really wasn't that serious about it lol

yea i know, i work with this one guy who just came back over there and he could go on for days about what he all did over there, so i really wouldn't want to take them out of there for inmates because of how much pride that they have over there

tell you the truth! there is really no pride about a war zone, they get sent over there without a say! they are told to do a job and they do the best they can do it, even if it means to die for a good reason or a bad reason they go in and do it without a say!

there is a good side and a bad side, the news mostly jump on the bad side of things to make a better news line.

yes they do have the right to breg about it, but there is a fine line, if they are all happy about the job they may becoming a cold blooded killer and enjoy it to much. good news most are not that crazy about killing people or seeing people or buddys getting kill its hurt a lot inside to day they dream about it is (mightmar) a sad part about it.

counts what they are told to do each day, help the people or search for bad guy. on a daily base's mission they are sign to do.
