Problems with LAN multiplay
I like to do Coop play and DF2 seems to be the best for it. I only have a few problems that I have never been able to solve.
Except for the player that created the game, all the rest of the players get "choppy" enemies... meaning that when the enemy moves, they seem to jump instantly from spot to spot instead of smoothly running along. When the enemy stands still, this is not a problem. (very aggravating for snipers) Also, again not a problem for the creator, when the enemy is kneeling or prone they appear to be standing. I can shoot them in the head and chest and even get blood spatter but it has no effect on the enemies health. If I shoot at their feet, where they are actually kneeling or lying down, I kill them. and, yes, I have VON turned off.

Its a lag issue, i think, on what connection is it hosted? Or is it hosted through a LAN?
And what computer is used for hosting? And is the computer that hosts also used for playing? Or just hosting and on another computer playing?

the Hoster is also a player (that may be my prob)
I have 4 computers... the slowest being 2.1Ghz Anthlon, 512Mb Ram. It is also being hosted over a private LAN (hence the name of the thread)

oooppsss my bad.... didnt pay ttention to that..
Well if DF2 is run on a 2.1Ghz, with 512 that should be sufficient. So hosting and playing on the same comp with those specs shouldnt be the prob also. Have you tried turning off all other background applications? i know DF2 will eat all resources it can get, nd thus migth conflict wit other things. And the other think i an think up is some bad network cables, or switch. What do you use? A Hub or a switch? In the case of a Hub get a switch, a hub divides the availeble bandwidth, while a switch gives a full bandwidth to every connection, unless specified to have a limit. ( but thats more for the routers with a swith in it) Have you checked the network also Maybe someone is sending hge files or something over it.

Disable all internet related apps in your task manager that you dont need on especially messengers of any sorts like Xfire, msn . stuff like that.
you can go to microsoft.com and see a list of the ones you should ONLY be running and test from there. I find other resources stealing the bandwidth is the issue.
