Hmmmmmmmmm...all I can think of is the host having a firewall but, then again all the servers I go into I get right in. ummmmmmmm...I'll see if I can find anything. Cheif might be able to help. He knows alot about these games and errors.

I have the same problem and a Virtual Memory Swap issue too.
My problem first started as “WARNING: Your Windows Virtual Memory swap file is less than the minimum recommend size of 140Mb. You may have to reduce video detail settings in the game in order to play Delta Force Land Warrior. Please refer to the README.TXT for more information.” I raised the Virtual memory and that message is gone and now it comes and goes... <--This is crazy. It is still enabled... (Mircosoft ??) When I click on any public game server it goes through the screens and hangs on the join screen (5-10 minutes). During this process, I click on CTRL ATL DEL and checked the status of the DFLW and it tells me that it is not responding. If I wait long enough, it will eventually join the server. This is the crazy part, I can play on the computer just fine. I upgraded to a new computer. Sony VGC-RB38G - Intel Pentium 4 Processor 550 with HT Technology, Processor Speed 3.4 Ghz - Motherboard 800 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache - Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2 - 2 GB PC-3200, 400 MHz RAM (<--Still confused about virtual memory issue) - ATI Radeon X300 128 MB video card - 250 GB, 7200 Serial ATA hard drive (210 GB Free) - 19” Sony LCD Windows Security Center OFF - Firewall, Automatic Updates... Task Bar - Volume (Speaker) - Symantec AntiVirus (Norton) 2004, Version 9.0.0.338 (Definitions 4/28/2005) (Disabled) - Symantec Firewall 2004 (Disabled) - ATI Setting Manager NOTE: There is a known issue regarding Norton/DFLW according to the game readme.txt file. - Scanned for viruses (Norton) and spyware (Ad-Aware) - Unplugged my firewall/router, pluged directly into the computer. - DFLW Game Update V1.00.42 - Loaded game, update same issue, unistalled game, deleted program file folder and then did it again. I am really lost on this issue. If anyone could help, it would greatly be appreciated. PBJ Thug PBJ |

I have the same problem, and on my comp the game has been played many times over with no trouble at all. just a recent problem. the virtual memory problem seems to be created on a partitioned HD where the memory is on all the partitions.
Ive no clue as to fix this so im going to keep an eye out here.

I had a same problem. 5 months agao, I bought a HP desktop. I was also stuck on the Join page. Then, I did everything I could do, update the game, uninstall and reinstall the display, scan the hardisk and virus, check the internet connection configuration, check game's setting, uninstall and reinstall the game, search in Nova's forum, search the possible solution in google, ask the technician in Compusa,........ Finally, I gave up, gave the HP machine back to Compusa and changed to a TOSHIBA laptop, I can play the game again!
I guess you met this problem when u tried the game in your newly-bought computer. If it is the case, my personal suggestion is to change to a new computer with different brand, name, but not HP. After read thousands of search results from google, I realized it is not only you and me got this problem, but also lots peopel suffered it. If your computer is a desktop and cannot return to the store now, try to sell the old video card and get a new video card with different brand name, it might work for you! |

My computer is a custom built machine. i wouldnt buy any name brand computer no matter how much it cost.
Ive played DFLW online many times before. so it must be a bug in the game, or a registry change that caused the problem.

i use to get into the server last 2sec then get kickout it was a bad file in the "cache" folder i had to delete it, so now days i go into it ever freaking time i get finish playing the game, and delete all them files in it.
seem to happen with DFLW,TFD and BHD. not with JOTR. think it bad coding nova did with the Cache folder. should not get any error with the game do to a bad file they load-up into that fold, will we know human is the error not the computer.

I have 4 DFLW installs for various reasons and all 4 of them as well as TFD and DFX was doing it.
I have also had to delete the cache once because it wasnt running correct, no dialog or other added sounds just gunfire and footsteps. as well as other problems.

My brother is having the same problem exactly. They bought a new HP and gave the old HP to their son. The old HP ran this game fine. They tried everything as you all have. Nova and HP Tech Support gave up trying to fix it. He took the New HP back to the Store, they gave him another HP with a different video card. And it still hangs up as he tries to join a server. His wife teaches and trouble shoots Computers, and this one has her stumped. They are both very frustrated. Please if anyone figures out a fix, post it immediately. Is it just HP and SONY with the problem? What did they change that could cause the problem? I have a year old Dell Demension 8400 with that Radeon X300SE Card, and it gets that same error mentioned above:
“WARNING: Your Windows Virtual Memory swap file is less than the minimum recommend size of 140Mb. You may have to reduce video detail settings in the game in order to play Delta Force Land Warrior. Please refer to the README.TXT for more information.” But I click on OK, and it goes ahead and loads the game, and still can host "Colored FOG", with no problem. I think the NVidia GeForce 4 card that Dell used to use was a better card. Does anyone use the NVidia GeForce 4000 card with Land Warrior? Does it get that above error warning? THANKS FOR YOUR TIME !
