Depends on the duration of the exposure.

nuclear dirty bomb is nasty there is no way to save your life do to it, go into the lungs and your stuck with it. how much your breath in. it can flow in the air and into buildings in the area, windows open or recycle air outside even with air filter on the air intake will not stop all of it, any dust items get through it will be breath in.

thats why they call it a dirty bomb, were ever the air flow it will go. plants will not be safe ether any heavy winds blow it release it again in the area

dirty bombs can be blown up any time of day and place and air flow with the winds. say 5-miles away it come in your area without you knowing it.

i would not be thinking of anything about nuclear when it come to trying to safe guard one life there is really no win win thing a person can do it there in the trees and plants all it take is the wind to blown on the trees the nuclear dust it back in the air again

Not only dirty bombs, thats what happend after the Tjernobyl explotion. But the radius was not 5 miles, traveled from Ukraine to large parts of Europe(around 40% of europe got contaminated). The radiation levels released by Tjernobyl was around 200 times that of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs combined.

Tjernobyl was a huge nuclear planet in a large scale bigger then any small dirty bomb can be, but in the end they are the same, they would release nuclear dust into the air and both are harmful to the people in general

only Tjernobyl did it in a mass scale

the dirty bomb? i think they had one of the fictional german commanders in medal of honor european assault try and drop one of them in the ardennes forest, it was a fun last mission, but it was completely made up, and it was long and hard
