Turn your firewall back on and just make a new Firewall Rule or exception for the game, turning it off (firewall) and opening ports is dangerous my friend.
As you well know.

For CD based BHD
Regardless of where the game comes from you can still play it with your nova login if the game is CD code activated. go with the plan B I sent you.
Do you have a direct backup copy of the game after installation on another PC?

Is ur' problem rectified or still pending?

Graffiti;
Ur' best attempt will be to [create an account on Novalogic/Novaworld Forum site] and post there. There is always an individual there checking posts. Possibly someone can 'redirect' you/help.
Attempting to get a voice contact is just about NULL. I agree, the old days/support, it's not what it used to be for help from them.
Novalogic put away support/help for the "Dollar". If you should recover/resolve your issue, there is a software to purchase [GAME COPY], you should 'GOOGLE' for consideration.
I've been in your prediciment as well. Remember to Save, Save, Save, here on out. Take 'ScreenShots' and save Everything to diskette's/CD's is prudent.
I wish you well in your resolve.
Carpe Diem...

Sorry but that doesn't make sense?
You install the game (or copy the contents of the iso if it is a rip) onto your hard drive, run the update and point it to your new DF2 exe

Now mine doesn't work when you update it.
It kills Quick missions and multiplayer.
If I reinstall without the update every thing works but then there are no servers appearing?
They have withdrawn support for it I would say. Like EA taking support for many services away...looking into it stand by.
