Post When is the next update?

Updates will be happening on a regular basis. There may be days where there will be 3 or 4 updates. Then there may be weeks where there is only 1 or no updates the entire time. Bottom line, run your update.exe often (available in your NILE folder under C:\Program Files\Novalogic\Nile also available in NILE by going HELP -> Update)

Post How do I move the Camera around in 3d mode?

The controls to do this are the same as they would be in game. Standard WASD controls relative to the camera. Q and E function as up and down in relation to the camera. Holding space bar and left clicking will give you free look and holding space and right clicking will give you some advanced camera controls. To adjust the speed of the camera use the turtle, rabbit and rabbit/turtle buttons. The Rabbit/Turtle button will increase in speed the longer you hold down a camera movement button.

Post How do I export my mission as a BMS?

Quite simply, you don't. The Nile Project File (NPJ) contains not only the map info that NILE needs to read the file, but also the info that the game needs to load the map. So just put your NPJ file local in the JO folder just as you would a bms file. Then you are ready to go. Simply put:
NPJ file = BMS file + TIL file + MIS file

Post What is the STR file?

This is a "String Resource" File. Currently it is not supported by the game, but eventually it will replace the need for a "BIN" file and all the functions that TextTool currently peforms will be included in NILE. Thus the STR file will replace the BIN and RC file. However, right now the game does not support STR files and you will still need to make use of BIN and RC files through TextTool.

Post How do I get my "Map Named Locations" to show up?

Currently Map Named Locations are not supported in NILE. This is something that has yet to be implemented, but eventually will be. As of now, this is a minor issue as compared to some other things we need to address.

Post Why does NILE create a WAC file?

Nile creates a WAC file because the event model of NILE is based on the WAC scripting language. When the Event System in NILE is fully implemented, which it is not, the WAC files produced will contain the scripts of the mission, just as a user can currently create WAC files simply by using notepad.

Where is The Resource Directory?

This is just where you installed Joint Operations

e.g. :
C:\program files\novalogic\Joint Operations\
