Trying to give up smoking..

Well its 4 weeks today and I must say it is easier than I thought it would be, I have used no aids just pure will power to give up, I dont have any cravings for cigerettes anymore...

Thanks all! The way I went about it was like this, After I got through the first day, If I ever felt I needed a cigerette I would think to myself if I have one now that means I put myself through that for nothing. And the longer I went without one, The more I would have put myself through so it was easy to tell myself NO.

But now I dont even think about having one, I can even go into friends and familys houses and if anyone is smokin it doesnt bother me at all, I have really supprised myself through this.

I still sit back and think sometimes how proud I am of myself for doing it because I never thought I could do it either so I'm really proud of you Sal, great job man I hope we all had a little to do with it to

Well just to update you guys, Im still going strong and almost smoke free for a Year....

If I have a drink with my misses at home I do sometimes feel like one, I still have rolling tobacco that I kept just in case I didnt manage to give up.

But Now If I have a drink I can light one up and I dont get the craving for another, As I dont really drink that much something like twice a year, I think I have achived a lot as I say I started Smoking at the age of 10-11 and I was 39 when I gave it up...

Hang in there Chief i made it thru smoking what caused me to stop was My Grandpa died and i smoked weed 1-2 times after and quit for good.

Just take it yourself Day by Day if you do one day without a cigerette, and the next day you just cant do without one. Say to yourself if I have one now it means I put myself through the day before for nothing and say Nar I dont want one.


Well that is what worked for me, Not bad for someone who suffers from Severe Depression hu?

i tried qutting ... went like 3 days .. then someone had a pack on them and i couldn't resist .. and i also just noticed i have a god damn carton in my room again ..

the gum taste like ass and doesn't help (and yea i do it right) and the patches make me sick to my stomach .. even though i can chain smoke and feel great .. i might get a perscription for Chantix
