NovaLogic Launches 'NovaXchange'

Calabasas, Ca (December 18, 2003) - Entertainment software developer and publisher NovaLogic, Inc. today announced the launch of the NovaXchange mission and map database on www.novaworld.com. The service is scheduled to go live at 3pm PST Today.

Covering the Delta Force titles Land Warrior, Task Force Dagger and Black Hawk Down, NovaXchange allows NovaWorld members to upload their own missions and maps for other users to download. Members can also rate files by quality of gameplay, layout, sound and enjoyment. To find the files they want quickly and easily, players can search for a particular mission or map by game type or word matching.

NovaXchange also includes ‘top’ lists displaying the newest uploads, most popular based on downloads, and the highest rated maps and missions. The most popular maps may also be featured on official NovaWorld game servers.

To me I think they are getting ready for releasing the Mod Tools as they will need this thing to get the mods circlated.

I could be wrong but it is Christmas its about time they gave us our Christmas present.

Well I think it is bs that the game company won't even support 2 of their best selling games...

They are creating this site and DF and DF2 aren't supported..

DF2 is supported now it has its own forum, But df1 hasnt.
Just thought I would mention it,Unless your on aout updates for df2 you have to remember it is a very old game now, So I dont expect them to update the game.
Maybe Release some sort of cheat software that works with all df games would be good but I cant see it.

i was thinking the same...i can`t see a big advance in doing this NovaXchange thing...
We have douzands of map and mod ressources already...
They should not copy things that have been done 5 years now, first of all they should make that things that are urgent..

like bugfixes
dedicated server software

and a hopefully complete game...

the rest they can let do that people that know it better...

Trying to destroy novalogic fan sites? I don't think so. That would be the dumbest thing they ever did. ANd they done some pretty stupid stuff.

Not knowingly destroying fansites? Not the good ones.

Taking away some things on the good sites? Maybe.

i think they will get the "new" customers to look at their page and that will surely be a client they can controle better because they`ve changed the game into a arcade type of game...that is exactly what they are doing....

the reasons are obvious...as far i know there was a discussion about NL is taking the lead on US army simulatin programs...but as you all know is the game AmericasArmy
simply done NOT by Novalogic....

And you can be sure that they KNOW they cannot compete with the realism aspect of AA....but i don`t think that is bad...

I like the game because it is a game without psychotic thoughts of being a good soldier....

So i think probatly some of the new clients will use the NovaXchange page as thier main and only ressource....
we will see if that is an attempt to get rid of the wishes from the older DF2 fans...lets see it positive...
i think all that sende maps are wasted...they never will look at them and there is no advantage in any way for the mappers....

usually i wouldn`t have sent few of my maps...i know that they are good and the full server since 9 month proofs that...but I could not let my fingers away after Kil was sending his....hehehehe

I dont agree, SH. I think Novalogic is doing great with this NovaExchange thing. First of all, this will be an easy-to-find place for all DF game owners, and it will be great to find Mods for the game.
I think Novalogic is actually starting to listen to their customers. Its not only the Mod Tools or this NovaEXchange , but also the support on their Forums since the last 2 weeks...

Again a great job done by Nova !

i believe they should concentrate on gving updates and news to their fan sites.

how hard is an email to send?

yet we never know about downtime, patches, updates, info, news etc...

thats exactly what i think...

the fan sides are providing what usually should have been done years ago by NOVA

a) they spare alot of money
b) informations are spreading much faster
c) they get good input

maps and mods they could link fan pages on thier page...like Battlefield1942 is doing...i mean that is the reverence anyway!

and now?

the game has still too many bugs...not fixed but a map-database even which i usually like much...but this is the 3rd. step...ok for the new mods it might be great..but
they could have waitied until the tools are available and
releasing things we really need bad since month...
dedicated server software for example...that is standard on other games....

the dflw engine WAS used by the US Army and created by novalogic. www.novalogicsystems.com was their website. try using www.archive.org to see what was there...

i think EA did the best job, they linked the best fan/ressource pages on their main page so everybody can find it easy...
that is smart..and for that it is THE reference of a first selling online shooter (they even must not say this)
Novalogic is doing something what they may do...but they do not what they must do...
i don`t want to make this things negative but i do not see
a general plan behind that....doing something what is already here on douzand fanpages while the game is still full of bugs...uh?
