Post AI tricky for single player missions

Here's another question: I noticed on all of the Single Player maps that the enemy AI moves around a lot. What about the AI that we place in our own SP maps? Why do they just stand around? Is there anyway to make them move around, run away or take cover?




To make them move around, set them on waypoint paths, just like you would with a vehicle. Also you can set people to coward and they will try to hide from you. Or set them to berserk and they will try and kill everyone and everyone will try and kill them. Set them to evil and they should try and kill you so long as their engagement distances are set correctly.

To correctly set engagement distances understand the following:
Attack Dist = the distance at which the AI will actually start shooting at you.
Max Eng Dist = this is the distance that the AI can "see". If you are within this distance then they will see you and try to close ground with you. I.e. they will move towards you. As they move towards your, they will eventually reach their attack distance, at which point they will start shooting at you. They will until to close ground with you until they reach their Min Eng Distance.

Min Eng Distance = the point at which they will get no closer to you. If the AI are using knives this should be like 1 or 2. If the AI are using Aks it should probably be like 16 or 32.

If min and max eng distance are set to the same value they will not move, unless they are on a wp path in which case they will not stray from the wp path.

if they are also given an attack distance equal to the min and max eng distances then they will not move, but will shoot you when you get within the max eng distance.

NOte: when standing behind an enemy, the Max eng is cut in half. So you half to be 2x as close for them to notice you if you are behind them.
