Returning Joint Opps User- install issues

Hi:

I am a returing Joint Opps User, I installed both Typhoon Rising and Escalation with my serial numbers, no problem installing. I click on the executable and this error comes up: "the game was not installed using the provided installer, Pleae unistall and reinstall" ????? I tried twice searched on the internet, found nothing other than a reg edit answer, I installed on my laptop running vista no problems, installed on a home made game system, running vista Ultimate no problem, this home made system, running Vitsa Ultimate has this error. Any ideas? I will run reg edit on both systems and see what the differences are, maybe the answer is there?

not seen that one before :/
the only thing i can really suggest is to try and reinstall or maybe try running in xp compatability mode.

tbh i see so many problems because ppl have switched to vista

Thanks, tried in compatibility mode, saem result, there is a thread on the net, that mention doing a force reg edit insert ever heard of that? I will try again with your suggestion and let you know.

Sometimes when installing a game Windows Vista doesn't recognize you as the Administrator of the computer and records the installation incorrectly in the registry.

Uninstall the game, deleted the game folder.

Run Regedit.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NovaLogic\product name and delete the game folder.


Reboot the computer.

Then reinstall.

Create a shortcut for the game and run it as an Administrator.
