A different type of storm

It was ULTRA hot yesterday, and windy. Where i live (desert) that can only mean one thing.

Towards sun down i noticed a lot of cloud cover overhead. And out towards the distance was rain etching down to the horizon. That didnt bother me, what bothered me was this:

What the hell is that? I was thinking. I waited around a while longer and watched this wall grow.

and grow

and grow...

And grow...

And it continued growing...

I knew what it was when I first saw it, but I have never seen anything of this magnitude with my own eyes. These pics might remind some of you of that HUGE dust storm that hit Melbourne all those years ago. This beast covered our entire town. And all those pics were taken in under five minutes. Thats how fast this dust storm was moving.

It just kept getting bigger and closer.

Nothing could stop this beast

Notice the dust particles being caught in the camera's flash. It was only now that the wind picked up again (before it had dropped eerily)

I have more photos but im a little low on time and will post teh rest later.

Go for it Killerbee, i'd like to see what sandstorms are like in totally different countries, though i suspect that there'd be no difference between teh choking beasts.

There's a photo section???

had to ask first thought it would be rude to post pictures without asking first.
these pictures came from one of my friends that was with me.

Got another pic of our duststorm, but my mum took this one.

Notice the 'tornado' in the thick of the storm...
