How to start a map with a turned of Heli
Hi,
does anybody know, how i can start a map in BHD multiplayer with a heli on it and it isn't already running? In my newest map i have a heli standing on a roof waiting for any player to enter an area trigger and then flying a round over the city and returning to the roof. After the first return, i set an event of landing it. and when the heli has landed, it turns off after a while. So it behaves all the time after the first flight. But how do i make it turned off bevor anybody switches the area trigger, from the beginning of the map on...? Any tips? |

if u use the 'landing' action and then you want it to do all the stuff it has already done... u need to reset all the events it has prevously done.
the reset event is in the events menu. alternativley u can set the heli to a speed of 0 kph at the last waypoint, and then have an area trigger for example to make it speed up x seconds after a player has gone in the area |

no, thats not my problem, the heli does its job after the first activation very well (Starts, flys around, lands, turns off, waits till player enters, starts, flys...etc.).
What i want is a little bit more "cosmetic". I've got the "problem" that the heli is already turned on (rotors rotating) when the map starts, before anybody entered the helis area trigger. And because i don't like this very noisy heli-sound without anybody using it, i would like to make it turned off, before it is activated by its area trigger the first time. I saw this once in a map, so i know it is possible. But i don't know how to set it up. PS: Sorry for my bad english... Last edited by Mopic; 09-28-2003 at 05:51 AM. |

cold starting helos
un check the hovering box in the attributes menu, and it will have to start up the rotors before it can take off. after the return landing the bird will shutdown if it is not trigeered to take off again.

well, i found out.
i didn't use the newest version of MED, which is 2.00h. I used MED v2.01, which is an older version, don't understand why... In v2.00h there is a check-box in the events menu, where u can set an event as pre-mission-event. So now i set the AI state of the heli to land and check it as pre-mission-event...and when the map starts, the heli is marvellous quiet... This works very fine... |
