Whos moved out?

Just wondering, in the next year or so Ill probably be building a house and soon after moving in (moving out of home - first move), so ill have a brand spanking new house...

but

I dont yet have anything in terms of furniture and all that stuff that you need for a house to make it livable, well, I have some things, but the bulk of it I dont really have so am going to start trying to acrue it over the coming months. Id rather take some time and buy decent of everything rather than get the lot and go cheap, I think it was scott that bought a cheap saucepan set and had it bow and damage, would rather try to avoid that...

Ive just compiled this list, its still very preliminary, its what I thought of off the top of my head. I realise I probably missed a stack of basic things...

Can anyone see anything im missing? Or have any genral advice about moving out?..

good eye ici, I wondered if anyone would pick that up lol, however I pick one out and it comes with the house

Dishwasher is an interesting thought, I hate it aswell, but not sure if I can afford it. Though I like Scott Adams idea, when he was designing a house for dilbert, his theroy was you have 2, one that holds the clean dishes and becomes your cupboard, you put the dirty ones in the other, when the dirty one is full, run a wash cycle and the swap their roles over

I would hold off on one or two of the other items to get the dishwasher lol

Such as art on walls, or visitors chairs... stuff that could be gotten later on down the road, dishwasher you could be using from day two

I love Scott Addams idea, going to have to seriously think about that....

haha, the study is all sorted, because dad imports the stuff for his furniture/antique shop I can get it at wholesale, which isnt much more than Ikea prices anyway I also have a bro in law thats an auctioneer at the local auction house, so may be able to go antique for some furiture at cost of new...

Got a confession, I dont play consoles :o

Yup - unfortunatley the site isnt up any more, but when he did that (was called Dilberts Ultimate House) he asked for public submissions and rolled the best into the house, the 2 dishwahser was what always stuck with me as a logical one lol

how about a sandwhich maker where you make sandwiches like mountain pies on

them things work wonders when you want to make a toasted cheese or some sort of a melt

Buying cheap pots and pans is not a good thing as I experianced the hard way. I buy better quality stuff the first time now

Where is your tool set?
wrench set,
short and deep socket set,
allen wrench set,
screwdriver set,
screwdriver set for small screws (Glasses etc),
screwdriver bit set,
drill bit set,
dremel with bits
18v cordless drill
vice grips
plumbers wrench
hammer
crowbar
hack saw
razor blades
chisel set

My tool set is pretty extensive for only living on my own for a few years, and I use them almost all the time.

Here are some other random things I can think of (Not sure if they are in your list):
printer,
fire/water proof safe to store documents
electrical cords
power strips
ceiling fans are nice to reduce AC costs
TV wall mount for big screens
curtains
scissors (not cheap ones!)
vacuum
mop
409
Carpet cleaner
Windex
Goof off
wd40
Barkeepers best friend
duct tape
electric tape
zip ties
flashlights
work lights
CLR Cleaner

Just to get you started ... moving out is expensive.

a pasta maker & BBq grill, stove with oven (Bake BBq style) out door BBq is nice too to buy too
