Shoutbox Issues (Headers)

Everytime i or someone else enters a shout they get this message after clicking the shout button

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /mnt/web4/21/58/51640958/htdocs/box/config.php:1) in /mnt/web4/21/58/51640958/htdocs/box/phShoutBox.php on line 182

Have you customized the shoutbox at all?
Can you attach your phShoutBox.php file?

Do you have access to your php.ini file?
If you have access to your php.in file you can change this setting from off to on:
output_buffering = On

I did adjust the php file you mentioned but i've redo the changes because it didn't work so it should be as good as it suppose to be but ever since the change it is doing that weird thing everytime you shout..

If you set your php.ini up liek I said and you restarted your webserver you should not be having this problem. I also cannot find any reason why you would be getting that error in the file you uploaded. The only thing I can think of is that you have added something to your config file that outputs html before that function is called.

The problem is that scripts work on the basis that the output to the broswer is determined by the script. Whats happening here is that the program is sending something to the browser before its meant to. In this case its happening in config.php

If you havent deliberatley edited the script to output anything then what it probably is is that youve added a space or a newline somewhere.

Probably the easiest thing at the moment would be to redownload the script, open up config.php and do nothing but edit the info and upload that.

Or if you open up your current config.php in notepad and hit control and A, it will highlight everything on the page. The cursor should appear immeadiately to the right of the ?>, you should not see any blue between the > and the cursor, not should the cursor appear on the next line. If this happens edit the file to remove everything so literally the last character of the file is >

Biggrin Try WAMP

Try to use WAMP Server 'coz that's the one I've used right now and it gives me no hassle. It worked well on my side.
