Resource/Squad Site Idea

I've decided to start a website. My book that's helping me (Php & Mysql For Dummies -- lol)
Basic plans:
Squad Base --| This will be a place that registered members can register there squad for the world to see, it's not just a link. It will give them 4 pages. A join page with join forms, a challenge page with challenge forms, a about page, and a rules page. This is what will make us different from all the other communities online.
Map/File Base --| This is basically like the one at your novahq.net site. Your's and stevie, and the rest of the crew.
User Login --| Works with the forums, and i will add in a feature called insta-chat. It will basically be a shout box but created when people want to chat, it will be private and secure (Deletes itself and everything in the mysql data base that was from that chat session when it's over ) -that's going to be hard it seems.
Polls --| Basic polls, except you can post comments to them and opinions.
Sig Hosting --| Probaly the hardest feature, because it will have a control panel unliike anything for the user. You can "turn on and off" random sig showing, so it will show random sigs, You can add folders, and chapters in folders, create polls for sigs, and more.


hope you like the ideas. Will take me probaly nxt summer, but i will get it done and be happy lol.

lol woops not squad site idea lol. Anyways i have no real graphics program (The best i have is paint lol ) Anyways what should i do to give it a good look? (e.g. tables, layout, colors, so on).

As for looks, you should really go out and buy a graphics program.. like Photoshop, or Paint Shop Pro if you can't afford Photoshop..

is paint shop better than regualr paint??

theres no comparison between psp and mspaint, imnot sure of your situation but if your a student of some kind check with you educational insitituion often they can get software at academic prices or if your lucky they may have a site licence spares that theycan legally give you...
