Synology DS212

Invested in some storage and a NAS. This thing is awsome! There's not much it can't do running Linux and the management software is so easy yet so powerfull it's a delight to use it. And if it doesn't cut it you'll always have SSH right into the linux heart

Set it up with 2 * 2 TB disks running RAID 1 to be more redundent. It also supports hot-swap which is a really nice feature, not that it's anything i'll be using but it might come in handy sometime in the future.

Currently transfering about 50 GB of photos from my computer HD's to the NAS and then there'll be a transfer of around 100 GB video shot with my camcorder and then a coupple of 100 gb of other files, will be running it all night transfering files.

Anyways, can really recommend it!

Nice .. All my stuff still fits in under 1tb. Roughly 890GB Total. That includes about 450GB of video that I ripped to my HDD from DVD's or Recorded from my Ceton InfiniTV to stream via my Xbox's . So mostly the stuff that I care about is only about 400gb. My 2tb drive will last me forever
