eek The wonder of Microsoft????

Yesterday, my very expensive XBox 360 broke.
Just like that.
Took out a DVD. Turned it off and then it wouldn't come back on again.

Typical you might say (and I did)

Anyhoo, I rang the help line and they said that because it was still under warranty (by about 11 days!!) they would send some info and if I followed the instructions they would sort something out.

Today less than 24 hours of making that phone call, there was a knock at the door and a man from UPS was there.

"Come to pick up yer Xbox mate" said he.
I asked him how long it would take and he said it would be at the Microsoft place by the end of the day.

Thats one hell of a warranty service I reckon.......

It's almost as if they have budgeted for just this kind of hardware failure.
Or is that too cynical a view?

Hah well that was pretty good support! Never expected Msoft to do that! Must be a trick, hide in the bushes outside when they deliver it, might be a mail bomb

i know there is a big problem regarding failures due to heat. at the end of the day they cannot afford bad press so they will get things sorted asap, + they have the resources / money.

so they just fixing it? not replacing it?

btw still not sent the cd's :/ been working early to about 8 every day (and was away at weekend) so not hit a post office yet .might be on the m62 tomorrow so i could post it by hand.

If you have an accident on the M62 and end up in Bradford Royal Infirmary A&E get them to give Ward 4 a call and I'll come pick it up.

Might put you a bandage on too if you are good.

I think if it can be fixed they'll do that but replace if not.

thats what I suggested months ago... Keep it off the carpet and dont put it in an enclosed entertainment center.. if you house is hot like some peoples use the laptop fan... it's a computer with 3 cpu's, it's gonna get hot...

Yes!
You know even the Post Man has trouble finding my house.
I'm very impressed. Thankyou very much. Shame I was at work.

Just wondering if you saw anyone wander off with my lawnmower?

They've shipped my console.
Either it's been fixed quick or they've just shipped a replacement....

Hope it's a premium edition!

Personally i can belive that it would do that and many people have had problems like such. One thing i think personally is that the 360 was released way to early adn rushed. If you think about the PS3, they have been working on it for over a year, perfecting it and creating it so that these small mishapps dont happen such as the 360. I think microsoft should have thought it through better with the release. All that was on there minds was to make HUGE bank, which they did so no complaints there i guess. And its not that im putting the 360 down in any way. I played it at best buy the other day with the game "fight night" wow it was so so real. crazy. Just my 2 cents.. no one has to listen hehe.
