this is what i have to deal with..

"it won't come on and just beeps"..... i don't doubt it with the half exploded capacitors on the board.. i did replace them and now it works, but just dam.

i got a pile of caps here the size of a shoe box that i have collected over the years.. just looked through them till i found two 6.3V 2200uF caps. that was one of those fun motherboards too. it is the kind that has traces on both sides of the board that are connected through the leads of the capacitor. the only way i have found to replace them easily is to clip the cap off the board and desolder and remove each leg individually with a pair of surgical pliers..

we see busted caps a lot at work, we used to have to replace them sometimes. because of health and safety rules we are no longer allowed to use soldering irons. customers do silly things like pick them up at the hot end when you are using them :/
