buying a sad game "Far Cry 2"

i heard there is a lot of bad things about Far Cry2 , will i got it for dirt cheap under USD-13.00 for the (for brand new) game and shipping charge as will.

i can't beat that to see how bad it is first hand.

i got a funny feeling i going to make a dvmod.lua file for this one to get by the single player maps in it, i heard all the AI respawn like crazy in it! like none! stop! besides them AI see all to shot at. i got that feeling i going to use a lot of nodes to get through this game lol

Its not a bad game, there was just too much hype surrounding it to give people what they were expecting.

Just bear in mind, FC1 and FC2 were done by two totally different companies, so the engines are very different. I don't even know if FC2's even moddable...

I will have to agree with Simon. It feels very much like Africa and at most times immersive, but repetition is what I think really killed it (well, for me anyway). Unlike the single player (which has LOTS of content), the multiplayer I believe is lacking - I don't like the weapon balancing, the lack of game types, or how long it takes to get into a ranked match.

Thats true about time taken to join games. I only every played multiplayer once, after it took well over an hour to set up my account because their server was down, and then the number of lobbies i went through before i found someone who actually wanted to play was shocking.

i finally got FC2 Version 1.00 in today
talk about activity it that was a pain

found out i had to use IE browser to active it, by open it up and copy and past in "http://www.farcrygame.com/unlock/" this in! follow the directions by filling in the empty spaces!

then i was able to copy & past in the following: Key-code, unlock request-code, get the unlock code to unlock the game. man that was a pain. would not use firefox to do all this and some trouble getting it to connect with their servers to unlock it! after the game was install.

will it good to go now! PunkBuster is install as will.

With almost any game, free or not some so called anti hack prevention program is included. Don't accept and it and you can't play. Easy as that.

i have no trouble with using any anti hack (anti-cheater) prevention program.
me I'm a lover of even balance software l1942,US-Army games, JO:TR, FC2-now

i set my game display to medium FPS seem a bet better at game play
game set it to very high/ high for display FPS let say it really lag game play at that high.
odd FC1 the graphic were a lot better looking then FC2 is seem more like cartoon to me even it was set to very high still look a cartoon to me!

i did find one bug in the soup! i set game to 1600x900 same as my desktop, but when i chain it? lets say to 1024x768 it cut-off rest of the view, like some one partly close a window what you can see now is less of a view out of the window to the outside world. side to side or top to bottom. a pain when you like to chain the option and can't see the bottom of the screen to click-on [back] [default] [apply]

it change the view point of the screen and not resizing screen size. that was odd as hell.

i have to find a lot of them blood stones to get more goodies

will after many hours of playing the SP-Mission maps

i am on the first map (don't know if there is others maps to play on) but there is endless mission to get and extra mission to play.

i set it to easy level to get the hang of it, i have to say it still kick me totally still.
started to play it around 11:30am and stop 11:50pm

still have more mission to do. got to get more blood stones to upgrade and buy weapons.

the maps is freaking big i mean way large then any map i seen! will maybe 1942 map large scale

JOTR don't even come close to the map (terrain scale) size and items in it.

btw one can roam any place they like! no boarder to limited one to go after a mission or look for that special sniper spot to shot from to kill them ai's
and one can move out of the map totally into a new area and there is even more bad guys to kill you & missions

It's not exactly as open world as it was hyped up to be though William.

Look at your map - look at the roads and then look at the hills (which are impossible to go across) that surround them. You still have to follow roads. Plus the extremely predictable AI also kills that freedom. Otherwise it's damn near-good freedom.

I remember also reading resolution probs similar to what you said too (about the cut-offs). A patch may have fixed it.

na i updated the game fully still got that bug to it, maybe when they release a newer update Version 1.4 it will fix that. right now its only 1.3

Well don't expect a 1.4 any time soon - from the looks, it seems like Ubi have ditched the game, if not taking a long time to get another patch in the works.

6889 shots fired and 19% accuracy, that means that 1377.8 of your shots hit home.. im disappointed ;P


The AI did seem to take a lot of body shots to die though.

What about the stupid animals on the plains.. He a car coming at full speed.. Lets walk infront of it.. final result, car wrecked animal walks along like nothing happend...


The graphics are awesome, but the gameplay lacks in all parts for the missions etc.

I like the game but the driving is a pain in the ass.

I did have it on PS3 the day it came out, But get it afetr for the PC and sold the PS3 version.

Main thing I like is the Map editor mostly.

^ Map Editor is amazing. I had never made a map in my life until i bought FC2. Loved that editor

i got done with the first map (level), working on the 2nd map (level) now!

i pick to save my buddys and not the people in the church, will that was no win win thing, move on to the next level after that point.

have not try the map editor for the game at this time.

On the 2nd level (SP-map) i found the golden AK47 and the hang glider to use in this level.
Golden AK 47 was glowing gold color, i did not pick it up.
