ppl cannot enter my HOSTED Game

I know I've got to change something, either Java or Active X settings... but people can't join my hosted DFX games.

(I havn't hosted games since DFLW and Win98.) Now I'm running a dual P4 3+3 with 2 gig ram on XP Pro. My firewall has already opened the ports for DFX.

I see people log into the game, but they can't seem to move and leave the game after a minute or so.

What is it I need to enable?

make sure ur firewall is allowing in/out connections

also if u have a router make sure the port for BHD is forwarded (cant remember the port tho)

thats all u shud hav 2 do is check ur firewall and sort ur router, i have nvr heard of anything to do with java or active X for hosting dfx

Do you have SP2 installed? and if so, have you configured or disabled the windows firewall?

I will enter the ports manually and report back wether it works or not (UDP 32768, 49152, 64206).

The first time I ran the game online, it "supposedly" opened those ports. I'll give this a shot, thanks.

(I am not running a router, and all of my updates are the latest and greatest (SP2, NET2, etc))

there is another reason if you have anti-post scan on or in stealth mod it will block them totally.

if you can get to them setting turn them off you be ok then or lower the security setting one step lower you be good..

OK- I did both... I manually entered the port numbers in the firewall, and, I took my security setting down 1 notch.

Finally, today, somebody joined my hosted game and everything worked.
