Sad Bloody Cars!!!!

I have to sound off some where so I thought I'll go to DF-HQ and say my piece!

I have just bought a new car 3 months ago and the the exhaust pipe has packed up! Bloody typical isn't it? You go out and spend your hard earned money and a little while later boom, you have yet another bill to take care of. As it's not a brand new car, (I would never pay the full price as the value of new cars drops so fast!) I have found out that the warranty does next extend to the exhaust system so I'm £121.00 worse off or rather will be when I get the bloody thing repaired!

Just thought I'd sound off about it and wondered if any of you guys have car problems just lately?

Regards a some what poorer!

check that there isnt a obligatory statutory warranty, here dealerships have to offer a certain waranty on any cars sold (depending on value i think), may be the same there....

If its a split in the muffler a split coke can wrapped around and secured with wires works wonders

All is see around be is people loosing money on their cars, the same people also wonder why i dont get a drivers license lol

Good Luck BD

I have never had a years no claims cos none of my cars has ever lasted a year.

Rover 216. Brakes Failed down a steep hill, had to bury it inot a wall to avoid running over a kid.

Peugot 205 1.9 Diesel. One of the most reliable engines ever made. However. Not the most reliable brake system in the world. Was hit by some local youths who thumped across the road I was driving as if it was a zebra crossing taking the nose off, along with a completley new braking system. £2500 repair bill. I wrote that off myself.

MG Metro. Went for MOT. Garage guy says he could pass it for £250 but he couldnt believe we had put our children in it. Another I wrote off to the scrap yard..

Honda Civic. Best car I ever had. 180,000 miles and still going strong. Stolen and wrecked. Insurance company pleased to give me £150....

Austin Princess. Decided to go for retro cool seeing as it was only £300 from a guy I knew who had been running it for 15 years. Pulled over for emissions testing, told I had to get an early MOT because an axle fixing was loose. KNew it wouldnt pass and I had zero money for that sort of thing so I sent it to the scrappers.

Given a Rover Metro by a collegue who had a new car but couldnt face getting rid of her old one. Never had any trouble for 8 years. I had it a week. Stolen and trashed.

Just bought a Escort Diesel Estate. All very sexy until I heard a thump and the engine siezed. Cam Belt gone. Everything inside kaboom! At least 800 squids to repair from what the mechanic could see without stripping the engine. Off to the scrap with his brothers.

Now on a Bus Pass.
All this in three short years.

I thank you.

PS Still paying off the loan for the Peugot.

People have asked me what my ideal car would be.
3 Years ago I would have said an Aston Martin Virage Vantage.
Now anything with a GODDAMNED warranty is a dream I cannot afford.

Get a volvo
We (family, dont have money for a driver license) have a Volvo 745 and there have not been anything, it dosnt barley use any oil at all and its pretty much only the brake disks that are changed once in a while (as it should be). Great car!

eek

Bloody hell ZZA! What you have just told us about cars kind of puts a different point of view on my small problem! Talk about bad luck mate! I can well understand why you went for the bus pass after all you've been through with cars.

It does make you think if it's worth buying one of the bloody things in the first place!

Thanks for that tip BB/Mike and the best wishes!

I guess I will have a love/hate relationship with cars from now on as my old dad used to say, "It's easy to buy a car, it's the keeping it on the road that cost's a lot of money!" Very true!

Regards

hmmmm some damn biatch just rammed my car's front bumper. Now it looks like Hollyfield's lips from Tyson's pounding. Must be somebody that doesnt know how to "side-park" their car. Just did a new paint job on the skirting & now i need to replace the whole front bumper! GODDAMNIT!!! last november was my broken window... december i got my tyre wrecked & january... my rims bent & badly damaged... got my bonus in february... & bought a brand new set of sports rim & low profile tyres, spoilers & skirting....

and just 3 days ago my bumper got wrecked.... aye caramba.... I'm jinxed!

oh.... one more thing.... i'm driving the most ugliest car in britain - Daihatsu Move... hehehehe
