Everyone here is on the lookout for snakes and today is the big day...extreme risk of wildfires like we had in 2009 and about 20 years before that.

Huge energetic fires leaping up to 2-3 Kilometers at a time caught and killed a bunch of our City folk, the fires came right into the suburbs, the bulk of the deceased were mainly people trapped in their vehicles.

Looking on the bright side? Well there isn't one at the moment, no relief in sight for the next week or so and I think we'll all be glad when this Summer is over.

I don't know how people north of us can stand the more intense cold. I hate going outside January to March because it is so freakin' cold.

I agree, still impressed of my mother who was raised in the arctic north, going to an outhouse in -40 and below is something I just can't imagine! Also as impressed with my grandfather who took over raising his family at the age of 16 when his parents died taking care of the forest, the family sawmill, their animales and their crops and his 7 younger siblings. Those that live in those places are hard as rock and incredible people, doesn't matter what country they deserve all of our respect!

I think I can stand cold more than heat as in wear warm clothes vs even naked you are burning up, then again the coldest I've been in is -7C but only first thing in the morning, everything thaws by 2PM.
