QUAKE HELICOPTER CRASH
A helicopter flying on a quake relief mission in Pakistan has crashed in bad weather.

Pakistan's army says six people on board were killed.

The Pakistani military helicopter came down near the Himalayan town of Bagh.

A spokesman said the MI-17 transport chopper was returning after dropping off relief workers and all those killed were military personnel.

The Himalayan region of Kashmir, worst hit by the 7.6 quake on October 8, has been plagued by high winds, rain and a low cloud ceiling for two days, hampering relief efforts.

At least 38,000 people were killed in the quake and 62,000 were injured, including many still in desperate need of medical care.

An estimated 2.3 million are still homeless and the relief effort is now concentrating on providing temporary shelters before winter arrives.

Weather is too hostile in that region to use NORMAL choppers. They need something surdier. Altitude and changing weather is making it very difficult to provide relief in Northern areas.
