RollEyes

I suppose we all "bash" our respective goverments at some time after all do we really believe what our politicians tell us?

No matter what country your from do the politicians that run it ever really deliver on their promises, and as they come from us the people, can we really expect any thing better from them?

Just a thought.

Regards

Well, I don't see any personal attacks, just clash of ideas and a heated debate. Good to have once in while.

I hate those stupid Americans!!!

J/K

This thread is soooo long. Anyway, I don't think you can blame it on an entire country. Blame it on the government

It's the people who chose the government. So, just blaming government is not good enough. They come from us.

Not really DD. It is the businessmen that choose the goverment.

At least they play a big part in it.

The Swede is by nature someone who questions authority, may sound idiotic, but our "relation" to bosses is basicly the same as between two workers (good and bad, such as the ranking system servel other countrys have, which is both bad and good heh). We question everything by nature and this is true to everything including politics and politicans.

Most people in this country doesn't see the one who rules our country (also because they are over 300, but thats not my point ) as an al mighty powerfull person. Hes usually seen as an equal who has another type of job and as every where else, every little step is questioned and critisised.

We are a complaining type of people hehe
We complain about everything lol

Thats my i complain and question everything said here, and most places, and one reason to why i like to argue, it lets me question other people motive and ides

So this thread has nothing to do with France besides the fact that their government is as screwed up as all the other governments?

The whole "A enemy of an enemy is a friend of mine, a friend of a friend is a friend of mine" works if everything is black and white. But take this for example

Australia and US = Mates
- Supported in Iraq
- Supported in Afghanistan
- Supported during 9-11
- Free trade Agreement
- Pine Gap and othe Intel sharing

US and China = Enemies
- Nuff said

Australia and China = Mates
- Negotiating Free Trade Agreement
- Chinese President addressed Parliament (A day after bush which was amusing, theoretically they lived in the same premises for a while)

So now is Australia a Friend or Foe?

So now is Australia a Friend or Foe?

After China floods your country with their cheap, next to worthless, goods, start threatening your aiiies of invasion, or tryes to ship into your country full auto AK-47s to Asain gangs ran by the Red Guard will your good friends be friends or foes?

i disagree with war in general. i wish killerbee was still here to see this thread so he can actually tell u how horrible war is. my personal opinion is no we should not be in Iraq, it was not our war to fight. like DD said earlier in the thread there is so much we can improve in the states with the money we are spending in Iraq. i dont think most people know how much money has actually went into Iraq...i found a really interesting link to put things in perpspective http://www.costofwar.com/.

if u click on the links below the ticker it will show u an example of what we could have done with the money instead. one example is instead of spending the 176+ billion dollars on the war we could have fully funded global anti-hunger efforts for 7years

explore the site, it really makes ur jaw drop

A real wake up. I know the U.S. went to Iraq for all the wrong reasons. But on the other hand I don,t want to see another 9/11 and haven't since we took the war to them. The old saying "Nothing is solved with violence." is pure bunk. I suppose if some liberals went to Hitler and said please stop gasing thousands of Jews he would have stopped. The money we have spent, and the troops we have lost is a high price to pay.but freedom don't come cheap. All the freedoms we have wer'nt given us by a president , or the congress, or judges, or lawers, or bleeding heart liberals. They were given to us by the four branches of our armed forces since the revolutionary war. No one wants war but you have to draw the line.

how war is? it's eating your k-rations wondering if the flys on it had been on the bodys of the friends laying around you. its crying like a baby in the bottom of a fox-hole all night while motors rounds hit all around you.Its seeing your best friend's head explode less than 10 feet from you. it's using dead bodys as sandbags. It't wondering for the rest of your life how you came out alive.
