The end of PHP and open source software.

This is fekkin nuts.
This is an article about a new law in the US that prohibits the distribution of ANY software that does not have embedded US compliant anti-piracy code.

The implications are tremendous on so many levels.
First that anyone downloading a piece of european software in the US that doesn't have this code added will be liable for prosecution.
Anyone making home made scripts ie Chancellors suite of DF utilities would also have to intergrate this into their systmes before distributing them online or by any other means.

Call me cynical but ill bet the software needed to embed this electronic fingerprint will be expensive and difficult to copy (obviously)

Apache and PHP are both freeware. The latter being totaly open source.
The US government will be putting a stop to open source effectivley because I imagine it won't like it s copyright code to be available for messing with.

Congrats to the Home of the free for proving once again that there politicians are market leaders in big brother technology.

man way i see it even the tools or add-on to All the Delta Force games sample the maps we all make even the wallpaper you maybe get into deep dep sh_t for it if it dose not have the socall copyright code in it man that bad they even may get into freeware software too some one even try to download it usa from Germany really good map nope you can't soon tobe. :P
