Well im returning mine and getting JO:E, HL2 has good graphics but itsa lil boring...cs:source is just like regular counter strike just with better grapghics...in my opinion its not worth for 54.99

Cool

54.99 is that in dollars? It seems a lot as it's only £34.99 here?

BadDog I can do it for you for 20.00ukp with my Steam Account.... Oh and its the DVD version I did hear there was a 5 CD version.

But you know my thoughts on the game, Im just one of the few that thinks it was`nt up to all the Hype.

Sal.

.....Um valve had no intentions of changing CS 1.6 once they ported to source. They kept the same game every one loves, just uped the graphics

Why change something that gets well over 80000 users any givin time during the day

Because its time to bring a new product and make more money I reckon.
I missed on the original CS and I find it dated and difficult to play against uberlords with 120000 hour practise so it would be nice to make a game that really takes advanatge of the new engine.
But as you say, its mod friendly so hopefully not long to wait!

on a sidenote:
if you have broadband, i'd recommend buying it over steam and download the whole thing (3-7GB, depends if you want all the old stuff too)
the discs only have drawbacks:
a lot of them seem to have errors
needs to be in drive to play
valve itself gets only 7$ from you (compared to 30$ over steam), and honestly i'd rather give my money to valve than those greedy publishers)

eek

That seems a very unfair division of the money between the developers of the game and the publishers Nev....I totally agree with you.

yea and with the steam way, you get order on your account and login name for ever. So no matter how many times you format you still can download the games and get them unlocked.

Having played HL2 for a while I have to say, is it me or is this the most over hyped game ever? It's good but I think it's not that good!

Just my own opinion guys!

that's why i skipped the hype ;-)
it's quite what i expected, a good game with good graphics, although a bit short.
the only thing where it really raised the bar for future games is IMO environment interaction, stuff like shooting sawblades through zombies or putting bricks on a swing.

but from what i heard halo2 is much more overhyped (didn't play it though)

I guess I should have ignored the hype and taken the game as you and Nev did Steve...I shall certainly do that in future!

For something that took 6 years to create, I think its an Avarage game with nice Eye Candy, These days People buy games from the ScreenShots and Well cut videos of the game, No One seems to look at the gameplay and replay value.

But you can see why they added CS:S on the disk, I think they would have had a hard time selling HL2 on its own, I feel ripped off even with CS:S Same game Just yes you guessed it more Eye candy oh and a small amount of physics.

But Hey I was impressed for the first 10 to 20 mins though. lol

ummmm the physics in CS:S are amazing and totaly configurable in the server configs and in your console. And 6 years? Just because HL1 came out in 98 doesnt mean they were making HL2 for that amount of time, they said they were going to wait for the advancement in technology to work on it and not to mention that source code incident last year
