eek AI Names using WAC?

I have tried everyway I can think of and I cant get this to work.
I found something in the mission bin files in the singelplay missions.

[AI_NAMES] ...

if never() then
ssnname(346, AI_Charlie1)
ssnname(345, AI_Charlie2)
ssnname(343, AI_Alpha1)
ssnname(344, AI_Alpha2)

But when I use the DFX MED and make the AI into blue team, they will have autogenerated names, like Snoopy, Smelly etc, etc.

Is there a way we can do this in our own SP or coop missions using the DFX MED?

Thanks in advance!!!

Yes & No
Yes you can do it for SP game &
No you cant do it for COOP
There is a catch. You have to add the names to the bin file and do it correctly & ONLY players with the altered BIN file would see it. Now as I would probably try a game you made. I would not like to alter my BIN file to play it so the only thing you get out of all the work making the names what you want is your the only one who ever sees it so whats the point in waisting your time doing it.
Hope that answers your question. And if you still want to do it keep searching the internet I know I saw the procedure for doing it somewhere just didnt save it when I saw it was a waist of time to persue.
Have Fun

The .bin file is used with the .wac to name the AI. The .bin also controls the briefing screen, waypoint names and subgoal win discriptions.

Just create a new .bin file using the utilities JET decribed below.

I have the bin file pulled and in a download for doing this already. and to make it work for the map you make sure it is named exactly the same as that map. no need to unpack the bin file from the pff and modify it where it will affect all your other maps. Tac is wrong about that, but he is correct everyone playing a coop map will need it. So yes you can do it for coop.

This includes the txt2bin converter. and 2 sample bin files in .txt format. you can include briefings in one sample if you want for SP maps, not sure if it works for coop.

you can also use this for PVP type maps as well, adding a map named location to specify where the combat zones are at, but it will only be visible by those that have it.
