Cool Half Life 2

My friend has just bought this long anticipated game and says it's superb so have any of you got it yet and if so, what do you think of it?

I think I may get it soon after hearing my mate wax lyrical about it!

Regards

just awesome (i'm at work now, so i have time to post )
they really managed to make the environment interactive (enough)....
like throwing a bucket of paint on a zombie
then hit him with the chair
then with the desk
then with the splinters from desk&chair

although 512mb ram is not eneough if you want to play without any hiccups (similar to doom3) :-/

but apart from that, gfx performance is absolutely great.

I have fx53, 9800XT and 1024 RAM.
I have everything on high and it works fine. Some stuttering at the start of a level but it goes within seconds.

As for the game. So far I am very pleased.
Looks good, the character interaction is raised a few hundred bars from the original halflife and the facial animations are brilliant. The closest thing to photo-realistic graphics yet seen.

Cant say enough good things from my initial impression.
I didnt even have any trouble with the Steam setup thingy you have to do to get it to work.
Great stuff.
Sell your X-Box BD and get it now!

spent most of last night playing this.
was very impressed tbh

i would rather have more gun figths to replace the puzzle aspect of the game but that's my taste. not that its hard to figue it out, its just tedius.

love the jet bike thingy

runs ok here on 512MB ram but wouldnt want to have less.
gfx are impressive even on very low settings.

I spoke to Baddog about this earlier today. It was 9am and I hadn't gone to bed.

This is the best game I have played since Deus Ex (original) blew my mind when it first came out.
The sound is great, the graphics awesome, the physics just blow your mind.
Ragdoll bodies are meaningless if gravity isn't just right, and the mass of the objects you fling around seems near perfect.

And if you though the airboat was good, you will love the dune buggy road scenes.

Im off until wednesday night now.
Thank CHUFF!

Sounds more like WWF. Sometimes I wish I could do that with LW. Move a few desks, maybe beat some heads into a few walls...

just beat it today, and omg the story line sucked, but the ending made up for it. Trust me once you get more into the game there will be plently of gun fighting.

I owuldn't bother mate. Its a terrible game, the graphics, animation etc are substandard, there is virtually no story to speak of and the action is slow and meaningless.

(pfft!)
