All things being equal we should be able to do this.

You'd better start again at the beginning.

First

Uninstall then, Reinstall in the new path with no update applied and no compatibility mode settings yet

and in the meantime Please Post your exact system specs.

Do you have any other Drive with XP installed? Like dual-boot
If yes, you should try to play in XP.
If the same problem, then your game may be damaged.

The "10th Anniversary" is patched, means that every time i reinstall TFD it will have the latest update. I have also one PC with XP, if i reinstall TFD there from the "10th Anniversary" Disc i have no problems....game is running fine, so the game (disc) is not damaged. But i need the second PC (with Win7) to play with a friend.

This "Intel HD Graphics Family (DAC Typ "Internal") 1696 MB" is suspect for me, but i'm not sure.

Do this for me, Carcharadon:

1.) Right click your desktop and go to "Graphic Properties..."
2.) Navigate to the "Power" menu on the left-hand side.
3.) Choose the "Maximum Performance" option on the right.
4.) Hit "Apply" and then "OK."

Let me know how it goes.

Yes it's RAM dependent but should only cause lag in a memory starved environment...mmmm...possible but I haven't heard of it having problems with DX/OpenGL 32bit based software from that era. (mouthful)

I was thinking about a time that when I had a Df Game outside of (x86) (think it was LW) I had to un-intuitively turn off compatibility mode altogether and it also had a reverse effect on other software.

Anyway you need to emulate the PC environment of the time by trying every different combination you can think of even if it seems wrong (won't break)

Try using OpenGL Forced or DX Forced or even Software based in the Graphics Settings

///Try Ubuntu using W.I.N.E. or a Windows XP virtual Machine

like to add to this a bet memory starved environment
XXXX ram x 1.5 = _____

i change my

was
min 16mb
max 2410mb

i change it to:
min 750mb
max 3072mb

2048mb x 1.5 = 3072mb page file me
windows set is minim setting need to change
must be log-in as Administrator to change system setting!!

windows 7
1.) control panel>System> system Properties> Advance system setting>Advance Tab> Performance [setting] >advance tab> Virtual Memory [change]>

2.) (x) check "Custom size" then do the math amount of memory x 1.5 =
sample max
1gb ram is 1024 x 1.5 = 1536
2Gb ram is 2048 x 1.5 = 3072

me like 750mb Initial size amount so basic there room for item not to be starved when windows loads up! 16mb to don't cut it lol

no change on windows loads up ether as fast as ever no lag getting to log-in screen or getting to desktop same as before

Dang I wish I saw this earlier.
Hardware man, get your software working with you hardware, simple as that. Compatibility or no way that's it, End of questions.

Hey bro, could you take a screenshot of your Graphic Properties menu for us?

I'm 99% sure it has to do with this. DF1-DFTFD users get this "frozen start screen" problem all the time in Windows 7 and it ALWAYS has to do with 3d rendering/performance settings.

BulletMagnet is correct, there would probably be nothing wrong hardware wise, it's unfortunate for you that systemwise there is compatibility issues, they are mainly reading memory size and requesting MMX CPU technology

A resource leak refers to a type of resource consumption in which the program cannot release resources it has acquired. Typically the result of a bug, common resource issues, such as memory leaks, often only cause problems in very specific situations or after extensive use of an application.
