Wink Multi-player Gaming

The other night I was trying desperately to save the universe, after going into a game server for team sabre. Unfortunately I was seriously lacking one key ingredient, I couldn't kill diddly squat. Now I know it was the cursed lag phantom, which seems determined to ruin everyones enjoyment, but on this night it was particularly bad. I was emptying almost an entire clip into people only to have them turn around and shoot me once (does anyone out there know how frustrating that is) which sucks.

Normally I check to see what the ping rate is for any given server, and this was no exception. It stood at a constant 105 which isn't good I know, but it's better than a lot of others. Now the thing is my connection is 1mb, yet I had a better gaming experience back when it was only 512k. Is there anything I can do to increase my internet speed?

I have gone into this particular server on several occasions because they run with fifty people and it's nearly always full. I do have my own little theory as to why it's worse on some nights than others and that goes along the lines of too many people firing off canons which forces a huge packet to everyone who's in the game, there by stretching the limits of the server. I'm probably wrong though, I usually am about such things. lol

Anyway, what's your gaming experience been like over the past few weeks?

MIA

BHD is wierd in that way. Most games, such as Rainbow Six 3, if you join a decent server your ping will be like 30 ms or 60 ms! Black Hawk down doesn't have good coding... so alot of the time your ping is 94ms one second, then it jumps to 200! its extremely unstable

And, its extra annoying when you are sniping (or even just looking in binoculars) and people start lagging and walking into walls, and then all of a sudden they are somewhere else!
