I think it's better with your own clays killing you, after all in the real world they would blow you up either way!

actually in real life it depends on the type of ambush you set

most are remote detonated... but you can also set trip wires and have them blow the claymore as well. They don't equip them with motion senors.

But if you aren't sure whether or not a clay might be hostile.... go around it or shoot it.

it would be nice if you lay low and craw your way by them even pick them up to move to a new location be sweet, say you found the other teams claymore and you turn it around or move it to a new location that be great.

normaly you can disarm them asap in the game not so they stay put.

If you set the clay up, then it should not kill you. In real life if you set off your own clay after setting it up, your a dumb@ss. You would know where the trip wire is or was and could just step over it. Like A.S said just blowem up if it is not yours.

will that would be right, if the fool did not remember were he lay it down at, in the real world they do for get were they lay them down.

i remember a Lt. NG set them up claymore training tools using a flash Bulb with a D-Battery had it hookup to a training claymore for us to use in training in the field. i set it up 2ea and map it were it was in my zone, each guy had them setup in their zone to cover a area infront of them, do you know 2 guys in my squad (real life this happen) of 12ea infantry man squad. we was setting up abush site. the fire fight started with another squad coming. those 2-guys ran infront of their's Claymore and the flash bulb gone off (it was bright and cool looking to)and the Company commander was watching us, and said you 2 are dead lay down and stay there. oh man they really look like dummie and feel like one to.

using a real claymore and the options you can set them up are many ways they to are dummie, they go off on any boddie and they kill in both ways infront and to their rear, yes they have what we call a back blast can kill up to 90ft away to the rear of them any rocks, nails, wooden items even. they can blast it to the rear if its there. one has to clear the back side of them, then after cover them up, even rockets have a back blast area to the rear of them. Laws, AT4, can kill to the rear if you inside a blackhawk and you shot it out from the inside of the helocopter you die from the back blast and the blackhawk is no more. so in real life you only live 1x, in the game you can play it as a totally like a dummie way its only a game, but in the real world its not the same way. hell you have a arrows to point to were you going to shot at, yea to the trainer in basic training hey were the arrows on this weapon he going to luagh at you really hard and maybe tell you to do pushup till you die lol

funny thing is you may set them up in the day time or night time you leave the camp site to do recon of a area. in the camp site there is a team to cover the area when your out, you come back at night and its really dark the land dose not look the same, but it is the right area only you coming from another point in, you see the rear team watching over the area. he says a word you come back with the password its right one he lets you in. now you walk to your area a bet lost in the woods. by god you trip over the claymore it blows up on you. it dose happen. ask in one who is or has been in the service they can tell you it is so.

The rear danger area on a m18A1 claymore is 16 meters. Yeah, there are going to be secondary missles and fragments, but they will not kill a soldier 90 feet to the rear of the weapon. It's most optimum lethal range is 50 meters to the front. 100 meters away it is moderatley effective and dangerous out to 250 meters.

Learn your munitions chief .... and for god's sake , learn some grammer.

They might kill to the rear. It's not probable but it can happen. Just like a guy might die if he gets thrown through a window. It's not considered lethal to the rear.

I'm just 17, and not yet in the military. Going to MCRD San Diego for the Marine Corp. Just out of curiousity ... what branch were you in?

Yea have seen it happen a guy setup the claymore and have his M57 firing device hookup to the wire and its hookup to the claymore all together, walking back to his foxhole and the safety is not on (has a heavy duty wire that wrap around the handle so if you push down on it, it will not go off) some are lazy hookup everything then walk it back if he trip and that M57 firing device goes off will he’s dead.
