Comp Buy Questions

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&sku=C122-2442

Is this a good computer? I saw chief wanted it, liked it, might save up for it. But it doesn't look like it includes a video card or hard drive, is that true? and if it is, is it worth it?

a sempron 64 2800+ doesn't seem like a descent processor, and judging by the pricand everything else, it sounds like you ain't getting much bang for your buck

it's not bad at all for gaming, but it really depends on the gfx card it is combined with.

wack in a powerful card and it will compete well with other processors because most games these days are more reliant on the GPU rather than the CPU.

you get what you pay for with processors generally, but if your not afraid to overclock then things will be ok.

A BETTER BUY

I just pieced togheter an AMD F57
2 nVIDIA 7800 gt / 256 SLI
ASUs A8N SLI Premiun MoBo
2 HDD 250 gb Hitachis
680 watts thermaltake P/S
Now with 2GB Kingston Hiper memory
Shark alum. case fully loaded 120 mms fans (4)
Gigabite 10/100/1000
Windows x64
Realtek sound system

and still cant shoot straight lol, but pricewise, its better to get a pc technician (good friend of course ) and ask him/her 2 buy the pieces 4 u, they get huge discounts...mine ended at about $2,300.00 usd, working and doing fine, that price includes a $100.00 I gave him 4 the favor and piecing it togheter...needs some knowledge for proper setting.

luck

my computer stats:

HP- Pavillion
Intel Pentium III Processor
731 Mhz
512 MegaBytes of Ram [That's with 2 memory cards, imagin before]

Im saving up for an alien ware...
Processor:
Intel® Pentium® D Processor
Dual-Core Technology, up to 3.4GHz, 800MHz FSB, 4MB Level 2 Cache
Memory:
Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
Four DDR2 DIMM sockets
Up to 4GB of system memory
here

My current computer is extremely outdated, it cant handle DF:X and hardly has the space to hold everything i must have, i can only have 2 games installed at once on it lol. I surely will not miss this old computer, its a good computer, but just outdated.

what type of hard drive you using a IDE or SATA?

i getting a new bare bone kit it come with Pent 4 3.06 HT, 1024mb DDR ram, cables, software/drivers MOB, and more
4-5 PCI Slots, 3-DVD/CD bays, 2-Floppy bays, 5 HD bays, build in Sound system & Graphic card. has a extra XAGP 8X slot too, LAN build-in port. more.....

there more but not getting into it.

i have to add-in a floppy, 3-DVD/CD drive, 56k modem, Graphic card AGP 8X, A- drive floppy, Tv-Card........but i can do a lot more and system be upgraded. it would not be dual CPU, bit it hipper thread

the bare bone kit is good for 3yrs if it go bad i can get replacement parts for MOB or what it came with, most of the time i find it be great for 5-6yrs anyways.

you save money on item you don't need to buy if you already have items you still can use.

upgrade my system cost around USD-500.00 if i gone and buy a whole new system 3.0mhz system with the works i find it cost over USD-1.000.00.

you know what type of hardware you have look up a barebone kit that match your Hard drive type connection to MOB, it has a AGP Slot 8x or if better
have more then 2-PCI slots to use.

no build in Graphic system it ok if it has a Graghic AGP-Slot to use.

come with Software, Drivers for the MOB is a plus
most don't have cable with them some do, so look around.

i buying 2/25/06 soon it match what i have already link: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...Tab=2&NoMapp=0

it what i need it has no Modem,OS,HD, Drivers for DVD/CD at all. in long run i save money, it come with cables, software/drivers fan's and more

Panther i learn the hardware after gateway crap i redid my hard drive replace all them parts in it, and did so many thing this old system been rebuild by me 15x over, it taken a real tech to tell me the Cd-Writer they sold me was not the right one it has a chip to block it from being use in the USA, i have to say if it was not for gateway i would never know things to do replaces parts knowing the ins and out of the tower ot all.

all parts were pay for by gateway MFG and s/h too lol

i will never trust Gateway MFG any more, they rip me off so badly it not funny, sold me a system 2.800.00 System were all the hardware one could buy for 1.200.00

it way better find some one who will help you upgrade your system today stander or buy Dell as panther said.

i hear Dell is really sweet, hell lot better then any others on the market to day, their computer system are way good in price.

check this out a lot better then that one
Link: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...Tab=2&NoMapp=0

it come with every thing you need cable, drivers MOB, fans and more for 500.00

all you have to do is instill or add-in hardware you already have to it. basic you replacing the heart of the system to a even better one.

i talk to a tech head he said MCI Barebone kits one have to dig-up software/drivers for the MOB and cables others thing, the Intel barebone come with all the things i need.

4 x 120mm fans noise

Nil...just a whisper when loading...rest of session quiet like a tomb...depending on quality of fans, speed, design and sensors, these 1s adjust speed upon temp. on sys. As of today they run quiet and once in a while I look at their cool blue LEDs, 2 check if running...so noice is no prob. The manufacturer, Thermaltake, warrants them 2 be super silent...and they really are lol
